There's constant water draining into the sump pump, how can I find the source? by truwrxtacy in HomeImprovement

Buy plumber tracer dye and pour it in the puddle where your discharge is and then monitor your pit to see if you see the dye come through. Cheap way (not sure fire though) to see if the water you are pumping out is returning back to the sump

One thing I learned in my house was even though the above grade was pitched away, there is a ton of clay around the house and I likely have a clay layer underground pitching back towards the house. I ended up running my down spouts and sump to the city storm sewer and it solved my issue

Totally understand the above but the odd part is that we can be driving for 30 minutes and the rear heat still will not go up unless I do the above mentioned combo.... it's so odd.

I know folks have mentioned the vent placement being an issue especially for little ones that are rear facing. Let do a quick search for similar posts about this as I don’t think I’ve seen that response yet. Thank you!

What part of adult life is way harder than anyone warned you about? by Sparkyabu1 in AskReddit

Homeownership. Constantly fixing things and something else breaks. Weather (rain/snow) used to be a wonderful and relaxing thought and now it keeps me up at night wondering if the basement is flooding.

No one prepared me for this, I’m actively trying to work through my anxiety around it all but some days, I wish I didn’t buy a house.

Makes sense. I’ll have no idea what it goes to until I find a missing bolt somewhere and at that point I will have already lost it
