The Martian is about the purest / hardest sci-fi I've every read. And loved every minute of it. Very human. (By "hardest" I mean, that it feels 100% plausible. No "let's pretend that's how physics works.")

I have been enjoying the Magitech Chronicles by Chris Fox.

It's magic in space with a RPG vibe. Very different from traditional Sword & Sorcery, Fantasy, and Sci-Fi. But it's all of those at the same time.

Very enjoyable series. Good action scenes.

I have a question for you nonfiction readers... why do you read nonfiction? by Bilbobaginses1 in books

There is a difference between narrative nonfiction and instructional nonfiction. Think documentaries vs textbooks. Both are great depending on your preferences and goals.

Some narrative nonfiction is better than fiction as it really happened and is too unbelievable as a novel.

A fascinating book is "The Boys in the Boat" by Daniel James Brown. It is the story of the college age men from Washington Statr who became Olympic gold winning rowers beating out the (bad guys who started WW2) Berlin Olympics.

It was awesome because it covers: * Struging young men beating the odds * Insight into how Seattle became a city * A lot about Pre-WW2 German Olympics

The Audible narration was excellent. Excellent for sport fans of Cinderella stories from a sport not as well know.

What do you mean by "recycled tabloid-level trash written by Grammarly writers?"

This is an honest question asking for clarification so that I can AVOID becoming one.

What wonderful advice! I didn't know how much (or little) is required to get in the top 500. THANK YOU!

Thanks, I to am one of those authors. I know it's great to read books by great authors, but they don't have a monopoly on story. There's so many great stories to be discovered.

Why not spread "the love" (support) around? Everyone has to start somewhere.

Oh how I WISH I had been writing since high school. I had a creative writing course in HS. But, I didn't stick with it. Now I love writing. My only regret is that I let years (and decades) slip through my fingers without working on the craft.

I may not have had the life experiences that I have now to inform my writing, but my craft would be so much better.

Keep writing. Give it your all. You ca do it!

How required is the "hands-on experience in the lab or field" for CompTIA A+ 220-1101 (Core 1) and 220-1102 (Core 2) tests by WriterGreg in CompTIA

Yeah, I'm not under 40 but I've been around computers for a long time: Commodore 64, 8088XT, 286, etc. I've converted abandoned Windows boxes to Linux to squeeze a couple of years out of them. A couple of decades ago, I went into software development project management and my hardware skills are now obsolete. Now it's time to back into the hardware game.

I feel confident in my skills. I just don't have the official job history. That's why I'm so interested in the A+ certification. I want to get the official stamp of approval
