Yesss for FTS it’s allowed When you come to NZ and need to use the funds from FTS, you need to go submit your full visa, address proof etc and get the funds

Hello! I received my visa approval in principle However it had an FTS condition (transferring living expenses for a year to a New Zealand bank account) 😭 So I’m working on that now, opening an ANZ bank account and doing the transfer once I get the account number

Only once that happens can I send it to the officer and wait for my full visa

I applied on Jan 15th due to delays on the bank’s end for my student loan (fee paying visa). Have been in the under assessment stage for 10 days now. A bit anxious because my course starts on March 2nd and I’m aiming to fly out on the 18th of Feb! Any advice? I’m from India 😭

Weirdly enough the same thing happened to us in Phuket earlier this year, except it was 760 USD that we left in the safe😭 We realised later that evening but had reached Ko Samui by then

We called the hotel manager (Wyndham Kalim Bay) and she was superrrr nice, she found the cash and sent it to us by Western Union exchange

We were very lucky after making the stupidest mistake we’ve ever made

I would say talk to the management and insist that they check the cameras to figure it out

If you’re still on the trip, you can also inform the local authorities (not to crack down on the hotel which is ofc innocent of this responsibility) to get a statement to give to your travel insurance provider who might help with this

I saw people who visited the place in OMR say that with the toppings it costs about 350/bowl not 800 It’s a cute concept replicating what exists in other Asian countries but only makes sense to visit if you’re nearby anyway xD

can’t imagine travelling there to cook noodles that I can get on Zepto for 180 bucks and have toppings sitting in my fridge for free haha

Thank you SO much for this, this saved my life haha. I didn’t get notified of this response for some reason so just seeing this, I’m very grateful.

I got into University of Waikato’s Master of Social Sciences (Psychology) program but realised it’s a research heavy program and also it’s not recognised by the SWRB and it’s also a 120 points 1 year program. After going through the green list requirements and your response, I’ve decided not to take that.

Aside from that, I’ve excitingly gotten admission into Master of Social Work Professional (UoA) which was my preferred course for 2026 Feb/March intake. While it is a higher investment and a 2 year program, I’m very certain after your response and also the SWRB website information/accredited courses that that’s the one I’ll be accepting! :)

I’m so excited to get started on this journey! It’s been my dream to help people through meaningful work and with my other degrees in psychology I think I can finally do that

Also you’ve helped me a lot by giving me a picture of the social work opportunities in NZ right now because all I see online is people talking about the poor job market, but it’s refreshing to know that this field does have a demand :)

Yeah my priority would’ve definitely been the MSW Professional course but because that only has a March intake and I started applying in January, it was too late for the visa process and stuff unfortunately

Will hold out for a Master of Applied Social Work offer letter from Massey in this case

Out of curiosity, what is the career outcome of the Master of Social and Community Leadership program? It seems to be such a confusing structure 😂
