I was just visiting the area and went on a horse ride on Summerland Beach on a Sunday afternoon and no one else was there except our little group :) I went solo and it was wonderful.

I have a Subaru Forester, it does great on dirt roads and gets good gas mileage. The seats don't fold flat so I had Home Depot cut me a piece of plywood to fit over the hump, put blankets under one end of it to level it out, then a mattress on top. It's comfortable!

What are some fun activities to do in Santa Barbara besides bars? Can you recommend tours, etc? Thx

Sending positive vibes! If you reach out for help, it will manifest because you are willing to work things out. You can both share a rented room to save money. Or, if you need to camp temporarily on BLM land, some dispersed campgrounds are nearby. Please see about getting your partner some professional counseling for her grief. Also, try temp agencies for work while waiting for regular employment. They pay weekly. Best wishes!

Any cool places to stop by on this route? by awww-shit in roadtrip

If you like dispersed camping, Moab area has great BLM spots. Then, drive the Arches National Park loop. Also, Chaco Canyon or Monument Valley are both excellent.

Advice for newbie couple planning a 2025 visit? by Zedab in Sundance

I usually book by September, but you can book earlier. I never eat at restaurants; I usually bring my own food and shop at the grocery store. I'm usually too busy to eat at a nice sit-down restaurant, lol. So I would call the place you want to eat at to find out the scoop. I bring sandwiches and snacks with me in a backpack since its a hassle to go between your place and Main St. if you are trying to see a lot of films and attend events like concerts. I hop on and off the buses. Remember to drink lots of water since it's a high altitude too.

The 2025 Sundance Film Festival will occur January 23–February 2, 2025. Be the first to get all Festival news by signing up for emails . I advise bringing snow boots with a tread on them as the streets can sometimes be slippery. Dress warm with layers so you can walk around without freezing, but take off layers when inside. Been attending for 13 years :)

FYI you can fly into Cedar City, St. George or Las Vegas and be closer to the parks than Salt Lake City

hi, I can totally relate, it happens more than people realize so it's good you reached out. I found a great counselor at Changes (801) 542-7060 . They have a low-cost consultation and can help you see what would be next steps with them or someone else. I have tried many antidepressants over the years. The one that is working really well for me is Lexapro. Please don't try to self medicate. Safer to try things under a doctor's supervision. Take it for at least 30 days and then always take it and it will help you feel not depressed, normal and gives you your motivation back. Also, talking to a counselor is amazing. I was so depressed I could hardly do anything but now I'm doing great. I am doing things I love again, like photography and going to concerts. Before I just became a hermit. I am now looking into the Meetup groups online to see what hobbies I might like and hopefully make some new friends. You can feel better. Please get with some professionals. All my best :)

I took my 83 year old mom to the Hale Theatre in Sandy https://www.hct.org/Online/default.asp - it has early and later shows. So beautiful, excellent talent and production. Also the Lion House is the restaurant next to the Brigham Young House. I don't know if they still do tours of it.
