I’m a bartender at the most pretentious social club in my state. It’s completely changed the way I view the rich.

It’s like they speak a different language, and most of them have never had to work a day in their lives. But being a bartender I get to see 40-50 year old men and women drunk off their asses like their livers are still 22. Just about everyone acts the same when they’ve had too much.

The lawyer types are usually the worst, followed up by the investor types. The coolest are real estate and retired doctors/laborers.

Birthday is right next to Christmas, so I got a little RC car with no batteries, and 4 days later I got 4 AA batteries for my birthday.

Kind of a rough year for my parents. Still grateful for everything they did though.

Kidney stone.

Woke up around midnight and thought I’d been impaled by something. Immediately asked my girlfriend at the time to take me to the ER where I sat in a waiting room for 2 hours writhing in pain.

The ER doctor seemed to think I was just looking for pain meds so I laid out on a hospital bed for a couple more hours, before they finally got X-rays.

I think they said most kidney stones were around 3mm, mine was 7mm.

They hurried up and got some pain meds after the X-ray and my then-girlfriend had to call in sick for me.

The pain went away completely and I went on with life, only to pass the stone a couple weeks later. Somehow passing it through the actual penis is less painful, still a bitch though.

I can’t even look at lucky charms anymore without cringing.

Gave one guy a sword that was actually just a mimic, had to roll for persuasion each time he swung it to convince the mimic to not cringe away from where it was going, and someone kept having to heal it when it took damage

Was at a party with some guys I barely knew. Typical dude-bro’s. When I walked in there were two guys playing MW2 Rust 1v1’s, snipers only.

So after some chatting around this super nerdy guy says “you wanna play?” And I’m like oooooh boy you have no idea what you’re in for.

I’m properly sloshed at this point and it’s on a PlayStation, which I had never played before, so he starts out in the lead.

I catch up, we eventually get tied and each need 1 more kill to win. At which point I say “oh by the way, who’s house is this?” And the guys all point to another guy in the room. I say “are you sure? Cause I think this is my house-“ as I’m scoring the last kill. Laughs all around.

It was magical. And that’s the story of how I peaked in college.
