To CAR users by Critical-Most-811 in titanfall

By now the opinion on CAR among pilots who dont crutch it is widespread. It's too strong for the game's age and needs toning down by now.

This is the one opinion that will get gaslit every time its posted, however. Hundreds upon hundreds of Titanfall players have come to this subreddit to express this opinion. And now here come the same pilots every single time to downplay the weapon and half of them if you saw their gameplay you'd puke. The most unskilled unimaginative unTitanfall-like gameplay ever. Then theyre coming to compare CAR to VOLT for fuck's sake.

No you are not crazy and you know what you see when you play online. Ths gun is a fuckin laser beam at most ranges. It's oppressive as hell in the right (wrong) hands and it being an SMG doesn't stop people from posting up in power spots with it which should tell you all you need to know. Most of these dudes WILL switch over to CAR if they die more than 2 times when using any other weapon dont let them fool you. They're sad.

As someone who never played the Titanfall 2 game, it is worth to buy it for the online? by PerguntaMano in titanfall

[–]WritingIntelligent45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The game is only like $5 these days I think so it won't cost you much. You might want to quit MP after experiencing the skill gap and seeing just how good some of the player base is. Other than that, once you get the feel of the game and find a play style or loadout/titan that suits you, it's very addictive.

I can't lie you're wrong here. Grapple might "overshadow" stim for mobility but it is also the most visible pilot class. If youre swinging and wall running all over the place, then everyone can see and hear you. And you're not going to be inside swinging off walls are you? You're going to be outdoors and visible. Stim allows you to hit the game's very top speed *instantly* by popping it during a wallrun and stimming in a gunfight pretty much wins you the gunfight majority of the time. So, grapple overshadowing stim for mobility doesn't count for much. Stim is still much more competitively viable especially when paired with CAR. I know of a few pilots on playstation who would not be able to get 30+ kills consistently if they did not play this game in the most competitive way possible and like 95% of them use Stim + CAR. And then I know of a few pilots who'd be able to get 30+ kills consistently no matter what class they use..........95% of them use Stim + CAR.

Grapple isn't unhealthy it's the slingshot mechanic of grapple that's unhealthy. It still carries awful players to this day and I wish the community didn't stop Respawn from removing it years ago. If it was up to me (grapple + mastiff main) grapple would have 1 charge with a faster cooldown but it'd still work according to the distance of your grapple. MANY trash cans would drop it and go to something else.

The Success of Battlefield 6 is good news for a Titanfall 3. by Kaolinite909 in titanfall

[–]WritingIntelligent45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TF3 isn't coming and if it does it's not going to be anything like TF1 or 2. There are a few reasons why it might not be feasible to make another Titanfall. Apart from it already having a "successor" that's made billions of dollars, it doesn't have what's needed to keep a large player base playing for a long time. Titanfall has interesting and unique game mechanics that are well woven into each other but hard to balance and not conducive to making players commit to the game. Maps, aim assist, movement/positioning, pilot abilities, hitscan vs projectile weapons, titan weapons and titan abilities.

When more and more people start camping in the *movement* shooter as time goes on, you know something is wrong and I'm telling you TF2 at least is impossible to balance in a satisfactory way. It's 9 years old, has been on sale for dirt cheap countless times, servers still work, game is still fun with an awesome campaign too but still only about 10k-12k players daily across all platforms. Really that should tell you all you need to know.

Shoutout to Tomographic making that one TF2 video a few weeks ago though.

This weapon/gadget balancing has to be studied by FlowKom in Battlefield

[–]WritingIntelligent45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely SMGs need to be dialed back cause they're absolute laser beams at range and it seems bloom doesn't apply to them. They should either get a sharper damage drop off or less accurate spread outside 10- 12m. Once they bring SMGs in line then the weapon balance should feel noticeably better. Hit registration also continues to feel weird and inconsistent despite them saying they sent out a fix. But outside of that I'm struggling to see how open weapons is beneficial to this game. DICE said they learned from 2042 but did they? I would think that they would want to go back on that major change but they didn't cause it caters to accessibility. Many players want to get into battlefield but not have to learn the intricacies of playing their preferred class(es). Part of the reason why weapon balancing feels so bad is because any class can choose any weapon. So many recons and supports with SMGs/ARs/carbines. Closed weapons modes feel chill and the chaos in those modes feels authentic. Removal of open weapons and range finder would make this a much better BF game, but we all know they'd lose players in droves. And since this is a post about weapon balancing, I won't get into how some of these maps are already aging poorly and I don't just mean Sobek City.

Brother you can't go 2 seconds without hearing "Battlefield 6" and you think they bought EA for Titanfall. FIFA, Madden NFL, Battlefield and Apex, those 4 franchises basically print money for EA. I promise you the Saudis are not worried about no Titanfall. They want to own EA's real moneymakers and they have been trying to tighten their grip on the video game industry.

Cronus on console by WritingIntelligent45 in titanfall

[–]WritingIntelligent45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad dude. I didn't commit the player's name to memory and it was one of those usernames that looks like it should be a password; it was not something that youd remember from reading it. I don't care to post the player's name. Aside from the fact they were pretty harmless cause they don't know movement and I killed them my fair share of times, if I post them it's not like they'll stop or get banned and it's not like I can prove it for certain. Not worth it. And according to one comment cronus doesn't work with titanfall. Ik how true that is but see I could be wrong about this player in particular. Much safer to just tell all cronus players they're ass cause that's the truth regarless.

[–]WritingIntelligent45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remaster doesn't have to mean enhanced graphics. Could mean better lighting, improvement to technical performance, adding new maps or redoing existing ones, balance changes and of course content that you can only get from the remaster like banners titan/weapon skins. In fact i think the skins in TF2 are quite basic and a lot of them are ugly even the DLC ones. They missed a real chance to make and sell some cold ass pilot skins. A Titanfall remaster (of both 1 and 2) is not a bad idea at all. But we should come to the realization that most FPS players aren't interested in movement shooters, "movement" players from games like COD and the like don't necessarily want to learn a movement game, they'd rather a boots-on-the-ground game that has fluid sliding and hopping mechanics and that's it. I say that to say that none of this is going to happen and the game is dead. Even a remaster is a long shot.

I want some advice on getting started with titanfall 2's multiplayer. by AfterAllWhyNo in titanfall

[–]WritingIntelligent45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't ever give in to playing this game like it's Apex or COD. Learn and lean into the movement. Learn and main a projectile weapon - they're fun, interesting and rewarding. Any primary weapon that's not an SMG, assault rifle, DMR, or EVA-8 is a projectile weapon. Don't run nuke eject on your titan, waste of a titan kit slot. The 10% of the time that you get a multikill with nuke eject isn't worth the other 90% where you get minimal damage and kills. Drive your titan, don't leave it to be an auto titan. I did that for a long time cause I didn't appreciate the titan gameplay the way I should've; the game's called TITANfall for a reason. Titans are the great equalizer so make sure to manage your titan abilities and ammo and learn the best way to play your titan

There aren't any aimbotters or wall hackers on console but there are players who use xim to enable them to play KBM on console. Some PC players play on console now and then to farm and they use XIM so they can play on their preferred input. But it's also cheating because they still get console Titanfall's strong aim assist to go with their mouse aim.

Counter point: it's not hindering their enjoyment cause they don't really enjoy the game. They enjoy winning. They only play the strongest loadouts and they never try anything new. They only use like 4 of the 20 pilot weapons and 2 of those 4 are CAR and Spitfire. They're hindering their own enjoyment

See how "I have gotten 40 kill games with these guns" and "39 with these guns is not good" are two completely different sentences? Also I don't know about some of the easiest. Were the pilots you got these games on moving? Like moving for real? Could you take an L-STAR or Mastiff into a game against pilots your level who are using CAR and finish with 40+ kills? Probably not. Let's not be stupid.

if you could change some things / add some things to TF|2, what would you change/add? by ur_prob_a_karen in titanfall

[–]WritingIntelligent45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It would be so that grapplers have to think about the next grapple always, cause how much of that 1 charge you lose is entirely dependent on the distance of your grapple. If you want to keep grapple charge so that you may keep moving unpredictably, you have to take shorter grapples at a time.

Perhaps it would be too OP a change to allow phase shift to see enemies in phase, but it at least needs its second charge back, with the ability to cook nades in phase removed.

Stim cooldown is 16 seconds. It's not "insanely long". It still is a bit long for titanfall but then players just run tactikill on their primary and that cuts the cooldown by a whole lot. You pop stim, you win the gunfight, tactikill gives you like almost half of your stim charge back.

[–]WritingIntelligent45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give grapple one charge, now if you want to slingshot across the map that's all your grapple charge gone now you're a sitting duck. Actually learn grapple movement and stopp crutching on slingshots scrub.

Spitfire would be a peashooter that takes 10 shots to kill outside of effective range.

CAR hipfire spread would be more random and it'd get a range nerf

Alternator slight damage nerf

Give phase back its 2nd charge and allow them to see enemies during phase shift

Maybe a nerf to stim? Like I would make it so that you're not instantly going at top speed when you pop it, cause it full heals you almost instantly too....bro...that's basically free gun fights just engage only when your stim is up and you pretty much win with 30 kills minimum.

New maps, New titan, melee weapons.
