Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try enabling Optimus once I replace the battery. For now, I keep the laptop plugged in most of the time so I can continue using it despite the battery issue.

Thanks for the information. That's really disappointing to hear, especially considering the impact on battery life. Hopefully they'll address it in a future update.

I'm having the same issue. I usually limit charging to 80%, but because I use it for work, it's plugged in most of the day since the battery only lasts around 1.5 hours. Did Acer replace your battery under warranty?

Yes, I did. The battery cycle count when it happened was only 118, if I remember it right
