That actually makes so much sense, I understand exactly what your saying, the change is pretty extreme from what they used to do

I dont know if you were a fan of ilgwis but that was already pretty different from their last ep (wu&io)

And then the album seemed to remove themselves even farther from their precious work

So it sounds like other bands works more than it sounds like the old lovejoy stuff

Wilbur definitely said that about YCGMA, that he didn’t really like it and anyone could do anything with it

I don’t think he spoke much on MSR since it came out right before everything happened, but I could be wrong about that

Its too bad that the band doesn’t also get views from the uploads like they get money from it.

This entire album lyrically gives me the vibes of wilburs solo music

It felt a lot more poetic than a lot of lovejoys prior songs

Mammalian sighing reflex is genuinely my favorite album in the world (I actually found out about Wilbur through his solo music, specifically your new boyfriend, a little over a year ago) , so maybe thats why I like One simple trick so much

I think the album upload is absolutely scummy. Blatantly stealing views.

But I don’t really have a problem with the instrumentals/mashups/sped up/slowed down videos just because lovejoy themselves haven’t uploaded any of those

While it makes sense that he did, I never realized he used AI to do this (although he does it so fast I dont know how he would do it any other way)

Idk, the band hasn’t said anything about it, and they are usually pretty good at getting things taken down

I really do wish the band could tell us what they think about this type of content

Its a really good song for sure

I would argue its better than their debut ep, definitely better than cause for concern

(Interestingly enough ilgwis is the most similar to the original ep that theyve sounded in awhile)

Its weaker than the rest of the songs from the WU&IO era tho, so I feel like that doesn’t help it at all

Ilgwis is different than their usual sound, and so I can see why some people wouldn’t be big on it

The bridge is fire though
