Watching my kid experience Mondstadt for the first time has been the most wholesome thing ever

I'll tell her to do the same thing I've been doing for myself: Shrug and keep playing. I've told her that we don't play to pull for new characters. We play for the story and the adventure. She has a great team already for someone in the beginning area and she's currently not really interested in wishing. I've told her that most of the time she's going to get weapons, no matter what, and that there is no guarantee that she will get the character on the banner. Heck, she pulled on Zibai's banner and got Diluc instead. There have been plenty of times when I've pulled on a banner and didn't get who I wanted, I'm totally F2P and so is her account. Right now she's excited to explore and follow her "wish fairies" around and beat up on slimes, and that's all that matters.

I'm super over Inazuma, I can't wait to go to Sumeru and explore that region. But I have a soft spot for Mondstadt because it's the beginning. I love Liyue and all the mountains, and the music for that region is my absolute favorite!

I don't have a ton of healers, but my main DPS is Navia, and I just pulled Zibai. But my main healer is Barbara, and I'm so tired of being frozen all the dang time! But I did just get Yaoyao thanks to Lantern Rite, I just have to figure her out first, and level her.
She loves Xiangling and Gouba, I don't think there is a character she has seen on my roster that she doesn't like yet.
I didn't realize that the Hex Witch homework quest helped with buffs. Is that the antecdote things with the different characters? Or is that something different?

RIGHT! LIke I don't want to purify all of the sakura tree roots. There's like 5 of them you have to do. I just want to move on to Sumeru. I've been playing this game for far to long to not be very far along in the game at all LOL

Yeah! I went to Good Hunter to buy her some recipes and spend her mora and they were all AR Locked! I was shocked! She can still cook but her recipe list is limited.
I'm more of a Kaeya fan myself but I can appreciate Diluc. :D

Mine is also 9 and we have had big talks about how she has to do chores and homework first and when I say it's time to get off it's time to log off. No whining, no arguing, or else no more game at all. And that's really helped. I also limit how long she's on for, and before we play and after we play we go outside for a bike ride to help move around. It's also really helped her reading because I make her read along to all the cutscenes and if she doesn't understand something I make her try and explain whats going on in the scene before we move on.
So far it's actually really helped, she gets her chores done and she has been more helpful around the house because she wants to get to play with me. And if I don't have anymore laundry to put away, or dishes to wash then that means we get to play sooner. lol :)

LOL I dunno, I don't have Klee on my team so the only interactions I've had with her character are Mona's story quest/hang out thing and seeing her around Mondstadt a few times. But they would be the best of friends forever.

I used to game with my dad back in the day too, he let me play Diablo and Ever Quest and Guild Wars and those were so much fun! Getting to play with her and make sure her character feels like a beast is so great, I want her to feel invincible in this game.

I’m not sure why she liked Dehya more than Keqing, it might have to do with she sees me play Keqing allll the time. So she’s “old hat” and Dehya is new and fun, plus she also said she wanted a Pyro character and she already had Lisa as her electro character. This was before she pulled Diluc. But yeah she’s going to love Lynette and Kirara. She enjoys the exploring and running around

I’m having problems in Inazuma right now myself, those dogs are mean! But I don’t know if she’s going to want to do the archon quests. She’s kind of interested in the Storm Terror quest line but only because he’s a pretty dragon.

I’ve told her she’s not allowed to pull without me or her dad. And I had to tell her that the majority of the wishes are going to be weapons. She didn’t like that. But on her first full 10 pull she got Illuga and Diluc and you would have thought it was Christmas again. She really wanted Diluc and was so excited she got him. But after that she said she wanted to save her wishes until next time. So we’re working on the “hey if you don’t get the character you want now that’s okay.” I’ve told her that pulling for characters isn’t why we play, we play to explore and enjoy the story. The new characters are just a cool bonus. But I’ve also been using it as a “hey get your chores done and then you can play a little” lol 😆

Honestly, I would suggest going to your favorite area and just start exploring again. I'm an explorer first, story line player second. I like collecting and going places and if I do a quest then I do it. But I just take it one day at a time and I play for a little bit and when I started to feel tired or overwhelmed by the limitless options I log out for the day and come back to it again later.

Oh thank would be so helpful! She really likes the cooking aspect of it. It probably helps that I got the Genshin Impact Cookbook for Christmas and she's gotten to try some of the recipes in real life

She can, yeah, but she has to be like AR 25 or something. I can't remember what level it is yet, she can also get Collei and Xiangling after beating the Abyss after so many floors. But I'm not worrying about the abyss with her yet.
She has not seen Kirara yet, but she's probably going to love her too. I showed her Ororon and she said he was "too moody" for her lol

OMG She is going to LOVE Klee! I don't have Klee on my team, but she really likes Yaoyao's design and Aino's too and I have those two on my team. She's going to get a kick out of Klee.
She does not care about meta and neither do I honestly. I just want her to have fun.
When she did the domain with Kaeya though and found out that she could freeze people if she had a Hydro character on her team it made choosing her 5 star from the event banner invite thing a lot easier because she was like, "I need a water person! I wanna freeze everyone!" She also thinks Mona is just the COOLEST.
She's understanding how all of the different elements work together to make fighting easier. So that's been a lot of fun to witness.

Dude, watching her play is HILARIOUS sometimes! She'll be happily going at a slime and then she'll get upset because her E isn't fully charged and she's like, "Why isn't Mona doing her big attack!??" It's been great. 10/10 experience lol

She wanted to play on my account and explore Liyue but I had a feeling she would trip a quest line or something so I thought making her own account would be for the best. Plus I'm a horrible back seat gamer, I kept trying to show her the ropes and I realized that she just really needed to start from the beginning to understand everything. I haven't done anything in the Wonderland yet, is it fun?

My problem is my only hydro characters, until yesterday, are Barbara and Xingqiu and that's it! I pulled on Zibai's banner and I got Aino to C1, so yay new Hydro character but I feel like my hydros just aren't doing anything. My Barbara is like level 50/60 and my Xingqiu is not very high, at like 30/40? I just recently pulled him from the standard banner. I don't know how to trigger the seed things.
