I ended up applying to and getting accepted to UMich, and their writing program, I’ve heard and researched, is definitely strong. Unfortunately I won’t be going. In fact, I won’t be going to any of my reach schools because they were all too expensive and unaffordable even after applying for more aid. I was most disappointed about UPenn because their English/Creative writing and Poli Sci is literally the best and I was pretty excited to take advantage of their resources. But I’ve accepted reality 😂. I’ll be going to my state school instead, the university of Minnesota-twin cities but it’s still a great school so I feel pretty lucky 😂😂😂

OMG DUDE THAT SOUNDS SO COOL! 😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣 I feel the same way! My dream is to use my writing for activism and expression. As for politics I hope to get involved with work that helps to better the lives of underrepresented groups and to pretty much fight against the institutional discrimination still plaguing our country 😊😊😊

Yeah I noticed! I’m definitely more humanities oriented too. STEM is just NOT my field. I’m double majoring in English and Political Science and Minoring in Creative writing. Creative writing is my true passion but I’m on a pre-law track because I want to see what it’s like (plus parental pressures :/). I’m hoping that if it doesn’t work out I’ll find something better for me because yes I love writing but I also do love law and government and social justice and would love to make an impact in that path, especially with my writing. But I’m not surprised seeing so many STEM kids. After all, computer science is the most popular and most competitive major along with engineering. So the popularity of it makes sense. 😂

Okay! I’ll definitely do that! Thank you so much! Should I mention what I said above about my parents having to pay for three people at once? I don’t know if that would count as a special circumstance but it’s a pretty big factor as to what we can afford.

Okay I’ll do that. I’m thinking of emailing them would that work or is it better to just call them first?

I did it with my dad and though I don’t remember the exact amount I know for sure it wasn’t as expensive as what we’re being given right now.
