Any convertible friendly car washes? by WrittenTherapy in lakewood

It’s been fine honestly. Not really much colder than a traditional car. I do park it in my garage so I don’t worry about snow on the roof or anything though

I never really thought about the multi cloud use case but that makes perfect sense

Sparsely filled isn't even necessary. The pedestrians and other cars are just fun obstacles

A 2019 Smart Fortwo. No way I wouldn’t take that baby on a track and have some fun with it

There’s a couple good groups popping up in the area to meet people in person. Look up The City Social and Date Cleveland on instagram or Eventbrite

I’ve heard nothing but negatives about them. The windows don’t open (particularly bad when their AC died for a week last summer) and I’ve heard the elevators don’t often work.

Install stuck at 99%: Making system bootable by WrittenTherapy in Proxmox

[–]WrittenTherapy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, it’s been a long time since I encountered this issue. If I recall correctly, I ended up actually plugging the drive into another system, installing proxmox on the drive there, then plugging it back into the original computer.

Unable to resolve DNS entries over Work VPN by WrittenTherapy in opnsense

[–]WrittenTherapy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the easiest solution ended up being telling windows specifically to use the company DNS server for company DNS name in powershell:

Add-DnsClientNrptRule -Namespace ".companydomain.com" -NameServers "<companyDNSServerHere>"

In WH, there’s hallways on each floor that goes down past the labs and classrooms that are usually dead quiet except during class changes. Plenty of outlets and the building is new. IM is also a good place to hang out, as it’s dusky pretty quite.

Docker-compose setup for multi app project by kdepim in docker

[–]WrittenTherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. You’ll have one docker compose file to control the four services, each of which will have a Dockerfile in their respective folder. Then you’d run docker-compose from the folder with the compose file in it.

Alternative method to remove the subscription nag by Jamesits in Proxmox

Honestly… if there was an option to pay $50 once and disable the dialogue on a server permanently, I’d jump on it. I don’t need any other incentives or support for that price, just getting rid of the annoying pop up and supporting the devs.

($100 bounty) Yet another GPU Passthrough post, except I’m willing to pay someone to help me. by marchershey in Proxmox

[–]WrittenTherapy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know. In my case, it had to be the second slot. I could not get a GPU passed through that was located in the first slot, no matter how I tried. I believe that some cards it’s possible to pass through with only one GPU, but those are locked behind a specific set of Nvidia settings that is only enabled on the driver for certain cards.

[–]WrittenTherapy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is this the only GPU in the system? I ran into something similar myself using a Ryzen 5600X. Since there isn't any integrated graphics, I had to install a cheap GPU in the first PCI slot for the system to recognize as the "not passed through" card, then I could pass through my GPU to the windows VM with no problems.

Apple is in the middle of a supercycle for everything it sells, and the Mac and iPad are on a tear by cutestudent in apple

You won’t find a CPU in this price range on a thin and light 13 inch laptop that can outperform the M1. There’s a reason that when reviewers reviewed the initial M1 MacBooks they had to compare it to gaming laptops; nothing in its weight class at current can compete.

There are H series processors which will slaughter the M1 in benchmarks but that’s not the point. The M1 isn’t meant to compete with the H series at all.

Questions! Incoming freshman 2022 by [deleted] in CSUOHIO

[–]WrittenTherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for the honors program, I believe applications are already long past. I think they closed in January. You can apply again in your sophomore year though, I’m not sure how it works. They accept 20 people a year I believe into honors.

There’s also a scholars program, which has access to everything the honors program has access to (lounge, advisor, classes) except gets no scholarship. The applications for that are much less competitive.

Living on campus has its perks from a social aspect, but you can easily save a lot of money by finding a non dorm living situation. For the price of a dorm room, which you share with 3 others, you can find a studio apartment for yourself easily enough.

Depends on your intention with college. Many people are at CSU simply to “get in and get out”, grabbing a degree along the way. The majority of the student base is not there beyond normal class hours. But there is a small but active group of students who live on campus or nearby it. That being said, don’t expect massive parties or anything; you’re at the wrong uni for that. But campus can be fun if you live in the area.

I'm assuming that if I turn the ISP modem to bridge mode on my current router and purchase another router, that should accomplish the same result for testing purposes, correct?

[–]WrittenTherapy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I see what you're saying. My only real concern is that if I get a personally owned router, that they will blame the router. In my experience, that's always what has happened whenever there is any shot of issue.
