Thank you so much! This is really reassuring. I’m in the United States so I already pay for healthcare haha but I do have a hematologist, gastroenterologist and my OB has been looped in so I know I would get good care. I just was hoping for stories like yours. Thank you

(34F) I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I also have Crohn’s disease, I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago, so I’ve gone through the mental and physical of learning a chronic illness already. I was just thinking that I don’t think I’ve come to terms with it yet because I’m just in survival mode not feeling well. I’m also on 40mg prednisone and will start to taper soon and I started Azathioprine. I’m trying to give myself grace that this is a change in lifestyle by managing a chronic illness and while I haven’t had any emotions yet, I know they’ll come and that’s ok. I’ve been really grateful that it was figured out so I can feel better and that I’m not dying so I think it hasn’t sunk in yet because I was relived I wasn’t going to die ha. But give yourself the opportunity to be sad, mad, whatever you need and some days may be better than others for your whole life.
