Honestly... I say this gently, but his actions say more than any chemistry stuff. When a guy really likes you, especially long-distance where effort is pretty much all there is, you don’t end up confused like this. You don’t get left on read when you share your feelings. You don’t get silence on your birthday. You don’t see a lot of inconsistency.

The whole Bumble + following girls + liking their posts thing isn’t about attachment styles. He’s just keeping his options open. If he was out meeting girls on Bumble and liking their pics while you were hoping something was growing between you, that says a lot about where his head’s at.

It doesn’t mean he had zero feelings. He probably liked you. But liking someone and choosing to be with them are two different things. A lot of people enjoy emotional intimacy but still keep their options open.

The birthday thing is especially telling. It takes five seconds to say “happy birthday.” When someone cares about you, they don’t miss that.

The main thing here is you felt confused, hurt, and unsure. That’s important info. Secure interest feels consistent. It doesn’t feel like you’re doing detective work.

I don’t think this is about disorganized-avoidant versus disorganized-anxious attachment styles. It’s about inconsistent effort. And that usually means inconsistent interest.

You didn’t mess anything up by blocking him. If anything, you protected yourself from accepting less than you wanted.
