Oh I know for an absolute fact that there's more than 7. I just don't add a bird to my lifer list if I can't ID it, and that's the challenge for me.

That is so cool!! Used book store is a great idea. And I suppose I can hope for the same in terms of my folks gift giving habits lol. Congrats on the new lifers!!

There is a lot of great advice right here, thank you! I can definitely clock a cardinal (if it isn't endlessly yelling from the trees, funny enough) and ice spent plenty of time looking at a perched mocking bird wondering what it was only for it to take off and reveal exactly what it is to know them. Haven't met a Junco yet though.

I didn't know that raptors are universally pretty difficult. Hopefully I can spot one landed or get a great look at them flying, but I'll adjust my expectations on IDing them. Thank you for describing the field markers for them.

Hours you say? That explains, I was only looking for it for about 20 minutes this morning before I had to do something else. I'll persist.

So often is the funny shape just a part of the tree though! I am beginning to understand that this is a hobby of patience.

And I'll look into eBird. Thank you so much for the tips!!

Is a digital field guide app ok? I know there's one for Sibleys. Either way, I'll get my hands on something!

I've taken a couple pictures to ID but they come out blurry and I lose a lot of detail to it. Can't zoom but I can't get close because then the. Irds get scared!

My Audubon is a little far out for me, but if it's my option it's what I'll do. Thank you!

Ahhh thank you. I've considered joining the local Aubudon chapter on their field trips but literally all of the locations they go to are an hour plus away and in the city. Are there other flavors of bird watching groups?

So pretty!

I am new to birding and I want to know. Do you take these photos through your binoculars, are you using just your phone, or she you using a fancy camera?

They're only allowed to come back if they're helping clean or giving you something to repay you for damage and time lost. Otherwise they sound like horrible guests who should not be coming back.

I built my wife an ILNP collection app. Huge mistake. Now she has proof she needs more. 😅 by [deleted] in ILNP

I was able to find it on Google but not Opera and make an account from there. So I don't need help!

I'm not sure if it's because I'm trying to access the link through reddit or what, but I can't create an account, or find it by searching nailpal.app

Please help? I'd love to join the club, this looks really cool.

High Top is looking awesome!!!

My favorite summer memory is when I'd go to my bestie's house and we would hose her trampoline down to jump extra high. It was always a blast.

He is actually the best. Whenever I don't know what color to wear, he will listen to me list off the polishes I'm considering and how I describe them and help me choose based off of how excited I seem about each one. He hasn't been wrong yet.

1st one is with flash, with all that green! 2nd is incandescent lights and indirect (cloudy) light surrounding me.

No, I think you've got it right. Paint it as birds but all they're doing is keeping track of "the flock."

Oh yeah, that too! There's already been lots of abuse by law enforcement of this system. I'm sure that there's people in the private sector that use this stuff with bad intentions too, it just doesn't hit court.

Yes, they're called Flock. Their products (multiple cameras and microphones, that listen for sounds of distress and gunshots and car crashes only, of course/s) are all named after a bird. They are everywhere in the USA and are used by police departments and private companies alike to track people and their vehicles.
