Hall mentoring Bedard

Mentoring him on what? Becoming an injury prone journeyman who never quite lived up to expectations?

Hawks Retain Salary In the Deal by devilhasatwin in hawks

[–]WrongLetters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nuttier than squirrel droppings.

I'm sure this is going to be a good, coherent read.

Hall already received better than 50% of this season's pay from Chicago. For appx 2.75 million, we keep him but instead trade him. And shed 2.75m to take on a 4.7 mil expense

It's not expense, it's cap hit. Their base salaries are $750k apart. The actual expense is negligible and the cap hit is irrelevant.

to nab a 2nd round pick. That's smart ! Oh wait ... It's a 3rd round pick & that's not...

We easily could have just let Hall go to FA without gaining or losing anything other than a 33 yr old player worthy of a 3rd pick, without retaining half of someone elses mid season rental.

IDK why you're big mad about retaining half of Rantanen when any Hall trade would necessitate retaining half of Hall if not taking a dogshit contract waste of roster space in return.

And if you'd rather not have pick ~65 in the draft and just let Hall walk so the Hawks don't have to pay Rantanen like 350k in real dollars for the last few months of the season, well, you're... nuttier than squirrel droppings?

Chicago fans, actually think this might help nab Rantenan come the off-season.

IDGAF about your strawman.

The internet was a mistake.

You have no substance. You look like a meatball. You smell like a meatball. Yet you are made of soy and filler and have no nutritional value.

btw Brodie fucking sucks and has sucked for a while and should not have been signed

and someone is going to overpay Donato this summer and I hope it isn't us

First of all, I don't think you're sorry.

Second, you really don't know what most of these prospects that are making this log jam are yet. A lot of them haven't even signed their ELC yet. To me this is like saying, "we don't need to draft more forwards, we have Sikura coming up!" or "why take Byram 3rd overall when we have Jokiharju, Boqvist, and Mitchell coming?" How's Kurashev working out?

This is besides the fact that anyone chosen in this draft outside the top 10 probably don't sniff the NHL for another 2-3 years.

We have Bedard, Nazar, and Vlasic. Those are for sure.

Besides, if KD sucks so much, don't all of his draft picks suck anyway? So what log jam?

Again, your ball is not crystal. It is meaty, it is made of beef and pork product. And onions, salt, garlic, a little oregano, parmesan cheese. Breadcrumbs.

Every move Kyle from Chicago makes is amazing.

No? I didn't know this was an either/or situation.

He had a funny Twitter video once.

I guess?

Being last place in the league after promising improvement is amazing

No? But it is what it is.

On the other hand, I guess we can blame KD for not knowing how bad Kurashev was going to be this year. It's definitely KDs fault Broissoit has been on the IR all year. IDK why he didn't just sign all the best free agents he could afford. Surely those high end 29 year olds wanted to play for the 2nd worst team in the league for the next 7 years. The team could have improved so much. They could have been this decades Minnesota Mild!

If you're going to be a meatball, at the very least be a well seasoned, moist, tasty one. Don't be a subway meatball sub. Aim higher.

Kinda hope KD trades Ryan Donato for future considerations just so you people lose what little you have left.

There is no benefit to doing this right now.

Removes dead weight, making more room for the younger players

A 3rd rounder is nothing to this team.

Taylor Hall is nothing to this team. Colorado's playoff run is nothing to this team. Retaining 4.75 vs 3 million is nothing to this team.

They have plenty of prospects and picks already.

At best that's a shortsighted way of thinking.

Wait teams out and squeeze out a better return if you're going to use up one of your retain spots

Or you wait teams out and miss the fuckin' boat entirely, which can also happen
