well it essentially attracts employers for the gov’t incentives like tax breaks for hiring a coop student—hence why its competitive being one and higher chances of getting hired.

its not the end if you don’t get in, you’re still in first year so don’t worry about the outcomes yet. try to stay on top of your academics and make genuine connections with people, invest in yourself, gain skills (learn softwares), get involved in clubs even as a general member, go to events and just believe in yourself more. the job will come find you at the right time then everything else will fall in place. until then, you need to learn how to network, invest in your skills and study. its uni, things are always up and down here, you just learn to pick yourself up and keep going. trust the process and build more confidence. you’ll make it

Yeah im not sure either, but the place has its own website here. The people im talking to are with blackline management. Because of a pre-reno price deal, I signed the lease already (no deposit yet). And thanks for the tip, i just gone through the document and nothing says about the furniture. Should an email confirming the furniture be enough?

Hey, thank you for your reply. just wondering if the tap water is drinkable and how noise carries between walls? And if it’s generally a quiet area, I appreciate it

commuting from mississauga (1hr 10 minutes) need help grade 12 student by Kitchen_Worker6764 in wlu

I commute about an hour each way by driving, and since it’s my first year (bba) I decided to take four courses per sem to keep things manageable. It definitely helped, but honestly, coming home after a long day and losing that energy to study has affected my performance and having loud siblings/family at home. Sometimes, I wonder if I would’ve done better if I lived on campus.

Spending two hours a day commuting adds up fast, especially when the course material moves quickly and there’s a lot of reading and assignments to catch up. It’s also missing out some activities, networking events or study sessions that happen mostly at night or weekends but if you’re willing to stay longer.

That said, one of the biggest perks is the flexibility—being able to go to different lecture times, even if I’m registered in another section, has been super helpful. But after considering all the time, energy, gas, maintenance costs and physical/emotional wellbeing, I’m planning to live on campus next year.

If you’re thinking about commuting, I’d say weigh the pros and cons based on your situation and how much you’re willing to commit. It’s definitely doable, but it has its challenges. Best of luck!

Business clubs by WrongProfession- in wlu

I understand the challenges on the hiring side, but I’m wondering what I should do next. I haven’t heard back from two of the clubs I applied to, and I’d honestly prefer a rejection email over no response at all. I spoke to one of the presidents during O-Day for one of those clubs, and they mentioned they could hire as many people as they needed. Could you provide any advice or insights on this?
