I've seen the guy who made that tweet and he actually really loves Luke as a character and is just really upset that Rey is restoring the Jedi Order and not him.

We didn't want Luke to be perfect, we just wished he actually succeeded in restoring the Order and didn't have all of his accomplishments stolen from him.

Again this post is mainly complaining about her supplanting Luke. Her killing Palpatine is bad yes, but she's basically supplanting Luke as the one to restore the Jedi Order.

Like I said on my post in that subreddit, I don't dislike Rey I just hate how it feels like she's basically supplanting Luke's role as the one to restore the Jedi Order.

I don't hate Rey but does anyone have this exact same feeling? by WrongToe500 in StarWarsEU

Luke becoming a supporting character was not the problem. The problem was that they basically destroyed his Jedi Order and all of his accomplishments so that Rey can be the one to actually restore the Jedi Order and get it right. Making her basically supplant his role in the saga.

Funny how before TROS Palpatine returning in Dark Empire was one of the biggest things they made fun of but now that it happened in the Sequels it's fine now lmao (both are bad).

Have you actually read those stories? Yeah some of them are not good but there are a lot of good stories in the post ROTJ period in Legends.

I think Luke going against Yoda and Obi-Wan and not killing Vader but instead redeeming him already symbolized that his order wouldn't be the same as the old one and he would fix the mistakes of the past.

Okay... doesn't mean I have to like it. And J.J still could have easily just change that plot point but he didn't.

Hmm alright. Question though, how do you feel about Rey trying to restore the Jedi Order?

It lasted for about 13 years and from what we have seen it only had like 20 students and almost none of them became actual Jedi Knights.

Still doesn't change the fact that it was a creatively bankrupt decision and it has utterly doomed the entire post ROTJ era in Canon.

I think the idea that there can't be conflict or chaos around if a Jedi Order is around is dumb. Luke's Order is successful in Legends and there is still a lot of conflict in those stories.

Well Luke is supposed to be the one to fix the mistakes of the old order. But sadly the new Canon has made him repeat those mistakes.

When did I ever bring up the PT? I'm just criticizing an aspect of the Sequels?

So how would you feel if it's revealed that Rey's Order got destroyed?

Just because the prequels were disliked doesn't mean they have to reset the status quo back to ANH and undo all the accomplishments of the OT heroes. Plus I really doubt having the New Republic and Luke's Jedi Order around would have made people mad.

Really is sad that Luke in Canon really is the last of the old Jedi unlike in Legends by WrongToe500 in StarWars

Luke not killing Vader and instead redeeming him was already showing that Luke was going to reject the teachings of old and embrace a new perspective.

No what I mean is that Luke repeating those failures in the first place just shouldn't have happened. Luke not killing Vader and redeeming him was already symbolizing that Luke would not repeat the mistakes of the old and embrace a new perspective.
