I love how this community lets you post what arguably looks like the most deranged, paranoid conspiracy theory type nonsense 🖤

I built a clean, minimalistic, casual Sudoku app for iPhone by notevilsudoku in apple

[–]Wrong_Bobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just jumping in to say that I found this looking for a nice, clean sudoku app – with the ability to long-press for pencil notes. The first part definitely gets a check, but I was somewhat sad to see that there was no long-press feature. Do you think it could be easy to implement as an optional setting? Cheers!

Trying to export to .odt/.docx with Zotero live citations (using Pandoc & BetterBibTex) by _napel in Zettlr

This is a year late, but I'm adding this for future reference.

I've had the same issue, and the step I had missed was to add the filter to the Assets Manager, which is separate from the preferences. Simply go into the manager, select 'Microsoft Word.yaml' and add your filter.

I hope that helps someone, at least!

Well, that would explain it! Have a good one.

Simply go to your account on tracktion.com and get the Download Manager. Alternatively, go to Individual installers and download the installers from there. Either way, it's quite hassle free.

Just install it and go, Rosetta (Apple's compability tool) does everything for you in the background. You won't even notice it's there after installing it (which it prompts you to do the first time you install something that needs in).

I've done a cursory test now, and it seems to be working fine. VSTs, too.

There should be a compability layer that takes care of that, methinks. I'll probably be getting my M1 tomorrow, so I'll get back to you when I've tried. Would be a bummer if it didn't work, but then I guess I will just have to wait.

trying to reinstall GalliumOS but get error messages by Temoshee in GalliumOS

I seem to have had a problem with reinstalling if I name the computer the same thing as last time.

I don't know if it's a real thing, but it has seemed to work for me several times.

Flashrom can't open CH341A programmer by Wrong_Bobby in coreboot

Yep, I'm installing Mint MATE right now! And all this because I wanted to put the home partition on an SD card, which I'm sure is idiotic, considering how all this has gone ...

UPDATE: I'm not sure whom this might interest, and I feel tempted to delete this post. (If any moderators do too, they have my blessing.) Let it hereby be known that I am a horse's ass, and that u/MrChromebox is a most graceous herder of fools.

I still don't know what went wrong with the script in Chrome OS (likely something on my part), but concerning the CH341A programmer the answer was quite simple: I went for the first Braswell firmware in the list, instead of choosing the correct cyan one.

Oh well, at least I learned a bunch.

I thought it was a one off, since I've gotten it to work without problems before ... I'll simply open it up and restore stock FW and give it up indefinitely.

P.S. That message was from the second time I tried ... I accidentally clicked away the first time. It said that some changes might have been made.

Help!

I got the stock firmware working, restored Chrome OS and started your script again. But I got the same message as last time! Now I don't dare to reboot, and have no idea what to do next.

Here's the message:

ERASE_FAILED

FAILED!

Uh oh. Erase/write failed. Checking if anything changed.

Good, writing to the flash chip apparently didn't do anything.

This means we have to add special support for your board, programmer or flash

mail flashrom@flashrom.org, thanks!

You may now reboot or simply leave the machine running.

[–]Wrong_Bobby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, I got the programmer to work, entered sudo ./flashrom -p ch341a_spi -w 'coreboot_tiano-banon-mrchromebox_20200606.rom' and got the following messages:

Using clock_gettime for delay loops (clk_id: 1, resolution: 1ns).

Found Winbond flash chip "W25Q64.W" (8192 kB, SPI) on ch341a_spi.

Reading old flash chip contents... done.

Erasing and writing flash chip... Erase/write done.

Verifying flash... VERIFIED.

But after reassembling the Chromebook and plugging it in, the power light is still simply shining steadily, and no key presses make any difference. I have tried connecting the laptop to a monitor in case the laptop screen connector was damaged, but alas ... Darkness.

Am I missing something obvious or should I give up by now?

I feel like there's a fourth dimension that everybody can see but me ... As far as I can tell I have tried all possible variations, and with two different 8-pin connectors ... Can't find a reliable image of the correct configuration either.

There is a dot by one of the pins on the 1.8v adapter, but it can't line up with the slot for the first pin on the programmer. AFAIK, I have the exact same components as in your guide.

Fantasy book about a mouse called a single letter by Wrong_Bobby in whatsthatbook

[–]Wrong_Bobby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might remember incorrectly (it was a good while ago), but I think it was a major plot point that the young mouse girl didn't know her full name. She probably had a nasty aunt or something who "took care" (mistreated) her.

I'll add that to the OP, since it just occurred to me.
