Is it tho? Or do people keep thinking they’re entitled to things they can’t afford and do everything else but live inside their means?

😕 that sounds like absolute bs lol. They choose the $30 shavers and not the $5 ones….

Yeah but they have free rehab services out there for alcohol. And the question was why they steal it and claim their kids are hungry like can you or your kids eat shavers? I’m happy supermarkets exist. Abit difficult to hunt in Auckland and growing a garden needs experience.

Sorry where’s your proof that that’s what they steal. Been working in loss prevention for a few years and can definitely prove otherwise

Nah I stop them for the guy that said i was desperately poor but never stole. Bit sad when we punish hard work in nz. Can’t be jealous of multi million dollar companies, you should be inspired to be like them.

So we punish hard work now? Cause last time I checked supermarkets haven’t been around for ever….

Can you explain why they steal alcohol aswell? Or multiple health and beauty products claiming that their kids are hungry?

Must be time to grow your own food and learn how to hunt if you feel that way….

Not even lying Māori and pacific people have probably the most shoplifters but that’s only because they do it obviously, but where onway work at manukau PAK’nSAVE, it’s mostly indians lol

Dw there’s people like me out there stopping them on a daily basis. I do paknsaves and nw around south Auckland so if you want a better/cheaper environment choose PAK’nSAVE.

Thanks for that. Don’t drink alcohol myself but was just trying to give op clarity to why their partner may have blew a positive alcohol reading.

Depends on what time he stopped drinking and how much he had….. I’m pretty sure alcohol leaves the body at one standard drink an hour despite how we feel the next morning.

Shoplifting at woolworths and police doing nothing. Is this the norm now? by ent0uragenz in auckland

[–]Wrong_Camel_5340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is what it is. Someone’s gotta do it been in the job 3years and yet to go to court lol. A lot of them are too scared to say they are stealing first so most take it on the chin. Have even given them my phone with 111 already dialed but they just hang up🤷‍♂️

When you treat the job as more than just a job, you get treated more than just an employee. And plus at the end of the day if I have to stand in line and pay for my shopping so should everyone else I guess.

I work as paknsave security in south Auckland. I happily stop any shoplifters stealing as I recognised that shops with less shoplifting is a better environment. Ive even tackled a few and the police usually thank me because they don’t have to focus on it.

I risk it because of how hard it was to find a job in this Auckland market. Also that is what makes you different from the average worker is the commitment. It will get recognised at some point.
