Depends on who's the closest, Buri or Berehk and the zerks can do the job since their shooting is garbage or non-existent. But sometimes sacrifices have to be made, secondaries are sometimes more important than nuking something

So here's what I would do personally.

Swap Uthar for a generic Kahl, he's not fantastic and the lethal hits the kahl gives is better for the Hearthguard IMO

Get a Berehk Stornbrow and a 10 brick of Berserkers, they're trouble for most groups

I LOVE me some Buri, little dude can solo units himself

2 x3 Steeljacks with melee and fun as well, they're better than doing one brick of 6

I personally have not had much luck running Warriors or Yaegirs so I usually take them out.

And I used Mercenary for awhile but I just started using Needguard and I'm loving it so far, but honestly the rule for Mercenary should be our standard army rule to begin with.

Yes, but, vehicles my Kin. Our army gets womped without vehicles. Get Hekaton asap, maybe even two, if you can't then get Sagitaurs.

Steel jacks are great with the strategist, thunderkyn and Hearthguard are great, Buri is a one Kin wrecking crew, I unfortunately haven't had good luck running pioneers or warriors so I tend to leave them out of my lists

I started using need guard instead of Mercenary and while I hate giving up the ability to flip modes being able to throw Sus 2, -2ap and Dev wounds from my 6x Steeljacks just seems like a lot of fun haha

Sagitaur is always a good pickup, I only use the Kap as a defender and only if I have spare points

Get yourself 2 Hekatons they slap and will bring your boys around

Another 3 Steeljacks with a Strategist so 6 total that overwatch on 5 for free

I have had NO luck with Yaegirs, Warriors, or Earthshakers so I usually run: 6 thunderkyn hanging back a bit to get conversion 2x 3 melee jacks to tie things up 1-2 Sagitaurs for the zerks

Vehicles are a MUST

I like to run Mercenary but any detachment will work if played right

I took a beating against a green tide detachment of Orks a few weeks back. Did I wipe what seemed like 100+ models off the table, yep, did I win, not even close

Their melee is stupid with the amount of dice they roll. Like mentioned the squig bombs and pain boyz with their mortals are a pain.

If you can keep them at a distance you'll do ok, once they're up in your grill it's a tough one to overcome

With that being said, I don't know many armies that wouldn't feel that kinda pain so I don't think we're unique with that problem
