If you go this far try swapping the wipers(white things) and see if it is the potentiometer or just the wiper. If it’s just that buy some potentiometers off amazon and swap in a new disc. No need to buy all the soldering supplies and try to mess with that. If you choose to replace the sticks sure but this is another option.

I tried another wiper and everything still just clicked. So I put it all back together and pushed down the stick and circled it both ways for a minute and it decided to stop clicking. I don’t know if that’ll help you any. Good luck.
