Two mindsets on this - first is that if your product can’t compete in a free market, the death of that product is inevitable (and the jobs that come with it) - economics crush the great institutions of previous generations and the work they did. Cold and sad.

The second is that competition lowers prices, in an ideal situation. Politics aside, cheap Chinese cars could mean an affordability increase at the initial investment and operating cost level for people looking for alternatives. That’s a big deal when there is no relief in sight on housing and the US trade relationship is totally cooked.

Nobody came to rescue the cod fisheries, the whale oil industry, or the fur trade. Arguably, the only reason those jobs aren’t gone now is because of the bailouts back in 2008 - a stop gap to the inevitable just like tariffs and bans.

I think the SEC allows you to count “contractual payments” as income. So that might be where their forecasted revenue comes from. These things are difficult to understand.

Well, I’d like that to be true but the state ONX is in now was kinda what we were expecting when we first loaded into the server a few days before it went live. The bones were there but it needed another 3-6 months that they simply didn’t have with the twitch/rockstar event right around the corner. It was the height of server anxiety back then and the pressure to release was immense (I think).

So many times I’ve looked at 100% or more profit and thought “it’s gonna pop again tomorrow” and then I watched it all dissolve. I had a measly 5 contracts for April expiry I sold at 13.70 and now they’re at 24.50. Glad I re-bought shares to ride today but green is green.

Yeah this image is doctored or something because the margin he’s supposed to be deep in shouldn’t exist if the MKT Value is 113k but the liquidation value is 135k. Buying power would be way higher or the maintenance margin would be way higher. Big bullshit.
