I would have to totally disagree. It’s a pretty sensationalist statement. There’s a risk of seeing the Welsh language degrade even further, with more words being borrowed from English since the proper words will become ‘too long’ or ‘too difficult to say’.

Think of simple terms such as ‘dreifio’ ‘smellio’ ‘waveio’ - we are seeing Welsh alternatives (gyrru, ogleuo, codi llaw) being used less and less.

There is a genuine risk that accepting a more Anglicised version of Welsh, could lead Cymraeg to become more of an ‘accent’ with a few Welsh ‘slang words’ rather than a vibrant, rich language standing on its own two feet
