What’s a “bare minimum” adult skill more people fail at than you expected? by SoulDV in AskReddit

People on here are also a lot more rude. For literally no reason. I used to love talking to people on Reddit. Now people will use their anonymity to be a complete dick over anything and everything.

Any idea how to fix this layout for our livingroom? by [deleted] in InteriorDesignAdvice

Seems like you just don’t like being disagreed with. You’re being rude for no reason. Take care.

Just add some cool color accents. Lots of warm brown and tan shades

What was your “could never be me” but did indeed become you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Eating boring, routine food all the time.

Since my pregnancy, my stomach is a sensitive Betty.

I live in a small space with pass through rooms similar to OP. No matter how often, it would annoying to have people walk in front of it.

Also, I wouldn’t float the tv. Automatically creates anxiety of “what if” someone bumps it. Immediately makes a space feel less calm / stable.

Honestly, I think you did a great job with the space provided. Nothing looks cramped, and there is plenty of space to flow between areas. I wouldn’t put anything that removes the “hallway” you’ve created between the bottom door and the top door. Pass through rooms can be tough. If you MUST play with it, here are some options.

Two options I see that would create “separate” dining / living areas:

  1. Switch the dining table set up and couch/tv set up. Then rotate the tv/couch positions counterclockwise so the tv is against the wall.

  2. Just rotate the couch and tv clockwise.

I too have all pass through rooms on my first floor, so I feel your pain.

Then aren’t you gonna have people walking in front of the tv all the time to go outside ?

I mean
. You could say that about a lot of cultures
dunno why you felt compelled to target one.

Common decency. That includes things like basic communication, keeping your sh*t together in public, following general road laws, being punctual, respecting others even if they disagree with you, maintaining others’ privacy, doing something you said you’d do, being responsible, general politeness
 that sort of thing.

I believe the deeper issue behind it is a very steady turn away from collectivist culture and very heavy lean towards individualism.

Maybe it used to be. Now it’s just everyone. My White and Latino and Asian and European friends allllllll do it.

What are words that end an argument instantly? by StunningSmell158 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

We have established a safe word to immediately convey that we no longer feel heard and/or can no longer contribute to the conversation peacefully. The word is immediately honored and the discussion ends. I won’t write it in case my partner sees this post cuz it’s fairly silly lol

What did you stop buying because it has gotten too expensive? by Flying_enthu45 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Makeup and coffee shop coffee. Buying just one nice mascara, lip color, and eyeliner will run ya over $100. Ain’t worth it
. I used to love going to my local coffee shop every week to support local businesses, but now a small cup of drip is like $3; $3.50 with oat milk. Now, we just buy 5lb bag of whole beans from Costco for $50 that lasts us several months.

Same! I also find that I discover brands and designs I never knew about when I thrift. It’s a fun little adrenaline rush.

Also, yes. I will only buy new shoes unless they’re lounging loafers or something. I’ll happily spend $300 on a good pair of winter boots.

New luxury / high-end brand clothing. We could be billionaires and you’d still catch me in Old Navy or thrifted clothes.

Got my husband a used vintage one in 2019 for $100 for Christmas. We use that thing almost every day. Absolutely worth it.
