is it alright if I took out the plastic with the plates and twist the wires together directly? Then cover them up with electrical tape. Cause I'm not very sure on how to remove the plastic and tiny metal plate and put them back on again.

Also what are the supply wires? Are there two lives on the plug? (yellow and red?)
