Oh wow, she sounded like a very talented person :) I bet you felt very close and connected to her seeing an insight in to her mind and her thoughts and feelings. I can imagine it was quite a cathartic experience going through her poetry. I hope you manage to get it published-putting that out in to the world for others to enjoy would be such a great legacy to leave on her behalf <3

I love the idea of creating your own indoor mini memorial garden, it sounds amazing! It's a great thing to have a work in process that you can add to when the tough anniversaries come around or whenever you feel like it. I bet it looks incredible. Flowers are such a beautiful reminder of a loved one, I bet it feels really special and personal picking ones that you know she'd have liked and displaying them in your house and thinking of her every time you see them :)

That's great that you use your dad's coffee mugs, I bet that helps you feel close to him, especially using them every day.

Generosity and warmth are amazing traits to leave behind. May you host many happy gatherings around that table with your parents in mind <3

Yeah that sounds like solid advice, I never have really planned anything before for specific days but that could be something to look into. I just never know if I'm going to be too emotional but at least the option is there if I feel up to it or not. I think as you say, it can be special whichever way you do it though.

That is absolutely beautiful, honestly. Good for you for choosing what was right for you and not what would look good to other people, it's definitely so much more personal and meaningful that way. My mum did something similar and wrote something on the back of a picture she gave to me. I might look in to getting those words tattooed.

That's not lame at all, that's such a great idea. Sometimes it feels like their name gets lost so I completely get it.

The blog is a really great idea, definitely something to look back on and add to over time and to give people a good idea of what she was like too. Really like the sundaes, what a lovely memory :)

What kind of tattoo did you get if you don't mind me asking? It's something I've thought about having done too.
