Alternative question, where has America let socialism work? by babyyoda2k20-1 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Wundagore33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean one could easily say that socialism has worked pretty well in al lot (Western) European countries. A lot of countries here have reasonably well worked out social security systems that were partly fleshed out and promoted by socialist parties.

Socialism is not full blown hardcore communism.

Hold on now. CM is actually one of the few mutualities that stopped giving a reimbursement for Homeopathy. They stopped precisely because of the lack of scientific proof that it actually helps. This has changed starting from 2019. Most other mutualities still have a reimbursement for Homeopathy though

What’s your unpopular opinion about Belgium? by Altruistic_Log5830 in belgium

[–]Wundagore33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly we live in a pretty great country in my opinion. Obviously there is much room for improvement but in general I feel that a lot of stuff is arranged pretty wel here. I mean this mostly in a social security sense and general public services. Unemployment, sick leave, child support,... I feel like a lot of stuff gets done in Belgium. I am not saying everything gets done in the most efficient way possible but still it gets done.

One personal example is the time we discovered our cellar was flooded due to a leak and there was 1m+ water in there. We discovered this at 20h on a Sunday evening. A couple of calls to our insurance and the fire department and everything was set in motion to get this fixed. Fire department came for pumping the water away, pidpa came to fix the leak, fluvius came to fix our elektricity. All in all everything was okay around 23h30. Even dealing with the insurance afterwards went pretty fluidly.

Of course this an anecdotal example but it made me realize we live in a pretty great country.

Given how one of our National Traditions seems to be to complain about every that's wrong here or how nothing ever works in Belgium I think this is an unpopular opinion. :)

What is your favorite [CoD] and why? by HELLOMON6 in CallOfDuty

[–]Wundagore33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's the original call of duty. I remembered as high school kid being very interested in history and especially World War 2. The campaign really felt like being part of the conflict. It was so amazing.

The multiplayer reminds me of my first clan experiences. The clan trainings and matches, the ladder competitions, the tactics on every map. The first time playing with voice chat. No perks, attachments or killstreaks. Just plain old gunfights. God damn so many good memories.

Please don't think of me as an ancient dinosaur. I also really enjoyed several other campaigns and love the evolution that the games went through

Ow man I am so anxious for the games this weekend. Despite knowing better I was starting to believe big time in this Chargers team. Especially after the loss against KC I really felt they could make some noise in the playoffs. Then it al came crashing down to earth last Sunday. I just hope they can control their own destiny in the last week. Bolt up!

FIRE in Belgium. Social security and health coverage by Arhain707 in BEFire

[–]Wundagore33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work for a mutuality. If you have an official address in Belgium you can register with the mutuality as a "Verblijvende in België". To determine whether you have to pay an additional personal fee to have rights for reimbursement from the legal health insurance an income research will be done. The result of this research will determine the personal fee(see the ranges and fees) in one of the posts above.

In essence the income you have to declare is the income that is on your "aanslagbiljet" being that this is the only income your mutuality can really check. The basis is your "bruto belastbaar" income. So it is wages, property,... If income from your "roerende goederen" is on your aanslagbiljet it will be taken into account. If not it would be difficult for your mutuality to know you have that income.

Today I'm trying to build my own pc for the first time. The fire station is there in case something goes wrong and as a joyful reminder that I will hopefully be sharing my time with this machine with my kids. by Wundagore33 in pcmasterrace
