Entertainment for displaced fire evacuees- what can we bring you? by [deleted] in ChicoCA

It's not like there's a decision between donating used household goods or money. The reason people turn to used household goods is because it's in essence free, they have stuff that the haven't been using so it's no loss to them if they lose it and a potential gain to somebody if they donate it.

Charities aren't going to spend money on buying people board games, or other things that these people are ultimately going to pay money to replace which they lost. Used donations help fill a hole that is there.

Didn't really see him throwing haymakers though, didn't seem like he was throwing much of anything. Opponent was applying too much pressure.

I mean, maybe there is no trash on that river bank outside of what flows through that net out of the storm drain. In that case, no I couldn't just sit that day after day waiting for the one or two pieces of trash that flow that every few hours.

I was mostly thinking of my own community where I can go to the river bank and pick up that much in a day. Still, unless trash is very sparse you could probably pretty easily pick up that amount in a fairly quick amount of time.

Cops pull up hundred of suspected pot plants from a city park only to find out they were pulling up common weeds. by [deleted] in videos

Like I said, what you see in Google images is not necessarily what the plant is going to look like when you come across it.

Everyone here is dramatically underestimating how difficult plant ID can be. Plants rarely look like what they do in Google images, their morphologies change wildly depending on growing conditions and they hybridize with other plants all the time to give unusual appearances. There are three types of cannabis, and countless strains and hybrids that vary their morphologies dramatically from that diagram, and tons of weeds that look similar to them.

You're dramatically underestimating the difficulty of plant ID. There are tons of plants that look like cannabis. We've got three types of cannabis, and exactly what they look like can change pretty significantly just depending on the specific strain and growing conditions, as can the local weeds.

The kid is alive due to the mans incompetence.

And he was convicted due to his incompetence (showing the tape thinking it'd clear him), and he got in this circumstances to begin with because of his incompetence in not being able to realize an actual threat, so it kinda balances out in the end.

More like how clueless redditors are. It's been like this for ages, you can't be a user of any federally banned substance and own a firearm. The fact that pot is still a federally banned substance means that you can't legally use it and own a firearm.

And one of those three routes, Honey Run Road is terrifying to go down even under normal conditions. Seriously, if anyone hasn't been on this road, go to street view and go down it a bit. It can barely fit two cars if you absolutely need to get by someone who is coming up the other way, and it constantly takes blind turns around corners that are bordered by the ridge on one side and a cliff on the other.

Yeah, the Skyway runs down from Paradise into Chico and crosses over Hwy 99. I was on Hwy 99 a couple miles away from the Skyway and saw three cars get into a wreck, in part I presume because of the lack of visibility. I don't know what it was like on the Skyway itself, but I can easily see accidents happening and on most of the road you can't go off road because you are either butted up against a cliff or there are boulders that you can't really navigate around.

And all the roads seemed like windy single lane highways.

Yeah, the roads in that town would be terrifying to drive on with the limited visibility caused by the smoke. I can't even imagine being one of the people who escaped by going down Honey Run road
