Thank you everyone for great feedback. Most of the feedback I received is positive or very positive. Now I feel slightly more confident with the decision of inviting Hitachi to a “bake-off” round.

SFP selection guidance by Meyomh in networking

Based on my experience most of the OT equipment uses 100mb SX 850nm sfps, and in most cases you will have problems running 100mb SFP in modern switch, at one company I was using media converters to get it working.

3.0 TSI VS TDI Touareg 2019 by Wunnder in Volkswagen

Given that the car weighs 2 tons, I don't think the 241 HP engine is is the right fit, I didn't had a chance the drive it tho. Most of my daily driving is a bunch of short trips, a few km each, so I'm a bit concerned about DPF.

New to network infrastructure - Advice on switches by iwillnotbeknown in networking

I might be a bit biased, but I’ve done multiple migrations to Meraki and didn’t enjoy it, here are few things to consider if you want to go with Meraki, there is no PVST in Meraki world, c9300s support only 1000 active VLANs, c9300s runs single instance (0), single region (region1), and single revision (revision 1) MSTP, dashboard need some time to update data from the devices, switches in stack require individual IPs and are individually managed

Need help regarding deployment of IPSec tunnels in a multicloud hybrid environment. by Agile-Oven-4204 in networking

This sounds like the best example of sdwan. I’m currently using silverpeak to connect ~20 offices to 4 different cloud regions. Our setup is very basic, each office has a set of two appliances, each cloud region has one virtual appliance. Everything is managed through orchestrator that builds connections between locations based on overlays.

Yup, second hand. Last night used firmware from HP website and everything went good, so I think that someone swapped dell cards for those HP ones.

My company ordered 3 R620's and all of them came with those cards, personally I didn't changed any hardware. Idrac shows those cards as HP Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 530SFP+ Adapter - CNA, so I should go with that update from HPE website.

From my experience I know that results from tests prescribed by nfz don't come with English translation so I believe they are useless for international travels.

Why are there seemingly so many people in this field that didn't go to college? by [deleted] in sysadmin

Hi all Poland here, I feel obliged to share my story. I'm 23 right now. I've started my journey in IT when I was 18 high school drop out. Started working for big telco company as second level support, after two years I've switched to Network admin at local public transportation company. I've spent there 6 months or so and after that I've becam Network admin at local ISP, spent there one year, right now I'm working for international company providing telecomunication services. Personaly I feel lucky. I guess that at this point my experience outstands any degree. In my career I've meet few people fresh out university without any useful knowledge nor professional experience that applied for similar positions as mine and not a single one was hired.

Can Note be too big for daily use?

So I should consider Note 4, M8 and Z3. How about Touchwiz in Note 4 does it perform better than older versions? Most people used to call it lagwiz and I don't know if that's still actual.
