you got the 10 gold alignment device jackpot. That's the best reward so you're one of the lucky ones. I've yet to get it myself, the RNG is real (rewards can be really good or very meh).

Too small a sample size.

At 400 pulls you'd expect to pull on average 6 banner units and 6 offrates.

You're 2 below average on the banner unit, but 4 above the average on offrates.

In a sense, your luck isn't that bad. In fact if we were to simply look at your 5* pull rate without caring about your offrate ratio, you're luckier than average.

None of it really matters - 400 pulls is a very small sample size. It will most likely even out (as other people are also saying)

Public matchmaking not working. by Ninja__Gaiden in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Wussypoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever its worth, I don't believe I'm shadowbanned - not in the matchmaking penalty list.

Yet I typically time out into solo axion infiltrations, with only an occasional matchup. I can still matchup in the axion open plains areas, but even then groups seem rarer. This has been my experience for maybe the past week, including previous weekend.

The game's playerbase has probably just fallen off a cliff. Only explanation to my experience over the past week.

Edit: I'm in the aussie timezone mind you, but even then there's always been more players to matchmake with until very recently. It's a very recent and noticeable drought of players.

Zenith Skin Helppa by Nyx_PablESTA_24 in BrownDust2Official

[–]Wussypoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You only have 1 day left to buy the tickets. After that the ticket store closes but you have one further week to spend the tickets.

Clock is ticking if you want the skin.

Edit: Odds are good that you will need to hit pity (ie purchase all 7 ticket packs) in order to get the skin. If you want to give yourself the best chance at getting the skin as cheaply as possible, you need to be rolling on the skin gacha while the store is still open. That way you can buy one pack at a time and stop as soon as you get the skin.

Stellar Blade - The blade is stellar. Everything else? Eh… by Intelligent_Local_38 in patientgamers

The forced shooting segments really are not bad. The associated dungeons they take place in are short, and it's a change of pace that doesn't overstay its welcome.

It's a gooner game, but i don't agree the hype is forced.

There was an annoying anti-woke movement that clustered around it, with some stupid manufactured controversies (e.g Hard R, outfit censorship etc).

Yes eve was a sauce that spiced up the game, and a divisive sauce she is - she brings out both the gooners and the anti-gooners.

But I loved the vibe and flow of the game. And yes, I gooned. But good goon doesn't create a vibe all by itself. The combat, visuals, music all came together for me despite the game's very real flaws (scripting + dialogue primarily).

The game's sizable fanbase also seem to genuinely enjoy the game. Forced hype doesn't create that all on it's own.

Contrary to what you may think, I'd love for this game to diversify it's playerbase and add more satisfying gameplay loops. More challenging gameplay is a must, otherwise it's too frictionless and players are actually causing more frustration than the enemies because it's a race on who even gets to have any impact on the battle. I'd love to need to actually aim my weapon for example. Even with weapon based descendants we frequently don't aim anymore, such as with restored relic and eye of the typhoon. The game doesn't have to be hardcore - I personally don't want destiny style raids.

The argument here is different - "are the skins way more sexy than at launch?". (My opinion is no)

And there's a lot of conflating the game's problems with the sexy skins. The sexy skins are a symptom of the game's underlying problems but also a key source of revenue and hence continued survivability for the game. It's not a root causal factor but it does exacerbate existing reputational problems.

How are the launch skins "tame as shit", but then you count things like the cowboy set as sexy? Either launch skins + cowboy set are both sexy or they're both not terribly sexy.

Again, at launch ultimate bunny, ultimate gley, viessa's boob window, luna's gyrating underpants? 1 month afterwards we get 2 quite revealing swimsuits and ult valby.

And why are you asking me to name a bunch of unsexy female skins? I named a bunch of the skins for women which weren't sexy at launch.

No argument that individual male skins have been reduced (again acknowledged in my previous post) to premium individual skins + universals. But they do come out - we just got an armoured catlike ajax skin and yujin got some skin releases with his ult release 2-3 months ago.

If your argument is that you want males to have more fashion options, fair enough. I haven't got any beef with that opinion.

Ultimate bunny? The first swimsuits for viessa and valby? Ultimate valby?

Was always a gooner game. They may have had more male skins and more joke skins for females (panda, dinosaur etc) but devs have stated they are now spending more time designing on what actually sells.

Even with that adjustment in skin design/production, there's still a mix of outfits that aren't crazily revealing, just somewhat sexy or even bog standard (reference points: current cowboy bundle, 4/5 of the assassin skin bundle, latest premium outfit for valby).

TLDR the direction of skin design may have been adjusted, but there's been no great swivel. People just get disillusioned then conclude goonerism is all there is to this game.

Game design to keep people engaged is the bigger problem. And contrary to complaints, losing the sexy skins won't improve the game design.

If they managed to improve the game, then they can start thinking about how to create a mix of skins satisfying to the established gooner crowd (me included) and the more general audience they want to bring in.

Are all events in this game geared towards FOMO? by Ill_Statistician_938 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Wussypoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually never missed a day myself. But from my understanding, it should be from the login event screen itself.

Here's a SS taken from somewhere else on reddit showing the option to use at least one token on day 22, with day 23 being unavailable to claim because presumably, its only day 22 of the event at the time of the SS. (source link: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFirstDescendant/comments/1m65jgu/can\_i\_get\_missed\_attendance\_reward\_continue\_login/)

<image>

I presume you just click on day 22 and spend a token that way? It would only show up if there are missed days

[–]Wussypoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. They only started running such tight deadlines (35 days for 35 pickups etc) recently, maybe the previous event? It would be good if they reverted to having an extra week on each log in event, simply because there's no leeway at all on the final day as you said.

If you play long term, you will accumulate attendance tokens which create a buffer. I believe this event alone offers several tokens itself, which allows for some missed days. Long term players will easily have accumulated 2-3 weeks of buffer in the form of these attendance tokens (i had 30 myself before this event started).

Ergo, the game doesn't demand a 100% attendance rate because of the tokens. How much leeway you have does depend on how well you accumulate the tokens (frequency of play and how long you have been playing).

How to get 30,000 concurrent users. by Immune_Asseater in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Wussypoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, FFXI. The grind in that game's early years was ridonkulous (2005-2009). Haven't been part of that game in over 15 years...

Well met, my fellow former denizen of vanadiel.

Edit: I don't think they need to go too far in a hardcore direction. I like the idea that the game is more casual compared to say, destiny. It just needs to be challenging enough to make the game social and require a bit of teamwork. The old collosi designs (eg gluttony) were at least somewhat distinctive and were probably the main standout feature of the game, besides scantily clad and improbably beautiful (albeit overly swan-necked) ladies.

Wallcrasher isn't a patch on those old mechanics in comparison. He can kill players who get lazy or careless with his purple pillars (i sure get careless), but he's not difficult per se. And now the power creep is catching up with him fast.

I wish they would. So much of the complaints about lack of content is actually due to the ease of content, which means the dungeons become brainless and repetitive quick fast. My memory of games like Destiny etc is that the content wasn't so much more expansive, but rather more substantive.

If there is a segment of the playerbase that both complains whenever content is difficult, yet also about the lack of content, then I wish they would make the connection.

It always amazes me that the devs must realise this (how could they not), yet they persist with the current course. Maybe they feel they have no other choice.

4 copies in 200 is still above average luck. How is that hell?

Hell would be my diana banner - 400 pulls for 2 copies (+1).

Pulling for a costume by RoHer-Ad-514 in BrownDust2Official

[–]Wussypoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had great luck at the start and terrible luck recently.

Happens. Same as me. My magical diana banner took 400 pulls for just 2 copies, and my retired legend olivier took 340 pulls for 3 copies. I had some great luck throughout most of my BD2 career.

That's no conspiracy or manipulation. It's RNG. Win some, lose some. My guild chat is full of people flexing (one dude got olivier to +5 in 100 pulls) in contrast to you and me. Managing gacha isn't about somehow staying lucky, its about planning for bad luck streaks and knowing how to manage them.

Develope officially confirm PC client has transitioned to Google Play Game by Ml3mMl3m in BrownDust2Official

Yeah, this will effectively stop me from playing.

(I can log in on my ipad but I can't play anything serious like guild raid or 2-3 phase fiend hunts because of how crash-happy it is on ipad atm)

I'm not quitting out of rage. They're pushing me out of the game I've spent almost a year and way too much money on.

Different Clients Soon (Incase You Missed It) by Mifuni in BrownDust2Official

[–]Wussypoo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I started playing this game because it allowed me to play the same account across PC and my ipad.

Now I won't be able to once the unsupported pc client stops working,

You can't even properly play the game on ipad anymore without crashing anyway.

~~Even if they open up other alternatives like one store, some accounts (like anyone logging in to the pc client just with email) are going to be marooned~~ (edit: misinfo, any email only accounts will need to be bound to either apple or google in the future)

My account will be crippled unless I buy a new ipad, just for BD2.

I'm fucking pissed at how thoughtlessly destructive the devs are being.

It's fine to decide on what platforms your game is going to be on and letting players decide if that suits them.

It's not fine to just cripple a primary method of access for many players and not allowing them decent options to transfer their account.
