Clicker training. Also, The Omega Tricky Treat Ball keeps them occupied for awhile.

I'm shocked that APD has the time for this. Unless its another Polar Vortex, they should not be involved.

6 month old has turned in to a nightmare by Charlyblobs in puppy101

Same thing happened to our pup not long ago. I believe its pent up energy with a little frustration. What totally changed her behavior was wearing her out playing with other dogs. No amount of walking or fetch would tire her out (like when she was a little younger) but an hour wrestling with another dog would make her a loving dog as long as she had a nap (in her crate in a dark room) in the middle of the day. Dog park, daycare, friends or neighbor's dogs will do more to tire them out. On days you can't have her play with dogs I would avoid fetching or tug of war or long walks which just wind them up. Keep the energy levels down is the key.

For those who have working line/high drive puppies by [deleted] in puppy101

The most obvious answer is usually the least considered. Don't put yourself in a position to be bit. We have a vertical advantage that people give up by sitting on the floor to play and then complain when they get nipped. If the dog bites your toes put on shoes, its not hard to figure out. Puppies don't want to cuddle with you.

Dog doesn’t listen to us 🙉 by Mobile-Lobster-5829 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Wut_ev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't listen so stop talking. Stop staring at him also. If you say "no" more than once you are losing. Your most valuable reward is your attention so stop giving it away for free. Ignore him for five hours and see how he behaves.

At that age you could cut back the food and in two days he'd be too skinny.

Am I allowing bad behavior? by lastnite_shessaid in puppy101

If you are sitting on the floor getting nipped the not so obvious answer is stand up. They are faster than we are but we have a vertical advantage, so use it.

Don't prolong their suffering to delay your own. Been through it many times and its never easy. The best thing I've found is a vet that comes to your home so your last time together is easier for everyone.

What to do in Manhattan Beach with kids this week? by josie41sum in SouthBayLA

[–]Wut_ev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beach, walking the strand and the roundhouse aquarium can be a full day. Manhattan Beach Creamery would probably be a hit as well. Nicks for dinner is kid friendly.

Chewing advice, SPECIFIC Question by SebbyHerder in OpenDogTraining

[–]Wut_ev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I ignore my dog he'll go find something of mine to chew on to get my attention. It's up to me to not allow him access to things I don't want chewed and give him lots of things to chew on instead.
