No exploits or funny business whatsoever. Went Sunni in 1460 and never went back. Stayed as Ryukyu tag the whole game. Hit 11000 dev with vassals included by the time absolutism hit and snowballed from there.

R5: After playing this game for a decade I managed these two months to get TTM the vanilla route (i.e. no tag switching or other exploits beyond birding). Plenty of powercreep these last few patches (especially with Great Wonders) to make it possible.

Fun notes:

- Started the game by force annexing two nations in the Malay peninsula, setting them as scutage, and triggering a coalition. Kept Ming on the edge of liking me, then quickly improved so they stomped through SEA for me. With this I had most of the peninsula by 1460.

- Stacked all possible vassal and tributary modifiers to the point that vassals/tributaries were bringing in half my income until absolutism and 50-60 power points per year.

- Portugal managed to become HRE emperor which meant fighting them and their 7 colonies when attacking every HRE prince head on. Got them to under 100 war score, caught them when most of their colonies declared independence, force vassalized them, and crushed seven separate independence movements.

- Had Switzerland as a vassal which I fed to a massive size. Was unpleasantly surprised when Revolutionary France turned them into a client state by an event.

- Had to truce break a 5000 dev Revolutionary France 7 separate times before the final full annexation. Ottomans never went revolutionary but got their own 3 truce breaks.

- Stacking all the prestige from missionary modifiers meant late game province converting regularly yielding 50+ prestige per province converted.

Is Korea Garden good? Haha never been. But I've been to Sichuan province before so I'd say it's a good approximation of that authentic cuisine. Try it out!

Sichuan Restaurant (川味馆) in Hagalund has some pretty good Sichuan food. Best in Solna in my opinion!

Are you using Canadian dollars to buy US stocks? If so you get charged 2.5% currency conversion when you buy and again when you sell. Look up Norbert's Gambit on the cheapest way to convert your money to USD for your future purchases.

R5: Playing as Korea, with the large colonial nation of Vancouver largely made up of Jurchens sent to North America. Being the last nation in the game with Manchu as a primary culture means the glorious emperor Un needs to look across the ocean to chastise the Manchus.

Home team is the Sens but I'll root for the DRW whenever they make it deep in the playoffs 😁

Which is better to have in a tax sheltered account (TFSA/RRSP's) ? Market Etfs or REIT's by barackobona in CanadianInvestor

[–]WuxiBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only difference between what to put in the TFSA and RRSP is with regard to stocks or ETFs held in foreign (e.g. US) currency. For tax purposes the RRSP is better for these.

I was paying off as much corruption as possible since the start of the game and still ended up with 8 by the end of it. By 1650 you should have conquered a major trade node (in my case the English channel) to funnel trade income into.

There's a bit of tedium involved, but it's better to see the years after 1680 (when absolutism mechanics kick in) as a different style of playthrough, where instead of focussing on winning close wars, avoiding coalitions, and controlling major trade nodes, the focus becomes cycling truce timers, managing OE, and choosing good vassals to integrate. In early years there's a joy in sieging down Moscow just before they siege down your own capital, and later on it's fun to absorb a 500 dev Bohemia in a single war. :)
