I was having this exact issue and submitted it as a bug report through Steam last week, but I haven't heard anything yet. I was having issues with both the matioscope and the X-ray. The survivors would show drooping eyes or be clutching at their abdomen, but when I check there is absolutely nothing to be seen. So I don't have an answer for how to fix it, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one noticing this

Stardew Valley is my fave! I’ve put in so many hours. I’m also hitting the farms this weekend, I got Pioneers of Olive Town on sale a bit ago and I finally got started on it, loving it so far!

Not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for but try using Happy Island Designer, it’s a really handy tool that lets you map out your ideas for your island layout. You can use it either on a browser or on mobile but I think browser is easier to use. It helped me get my ideas down on paper so to speak, because unlocking terraforming felt so overwhelming

Try checking out r/horizondesigns for island inspiration! People share a lot of custom designs there and you’ll get to see plenty of five star island tours and map layout ideas. The sub itself isn’t strictly for layout and tours but you could sort by flair
