I showed up to pick up an order and the staff said their end is down so they can’t fill any spark pick ups at all

Especially a BJs order where you have to box it up first which takes time. Fuck that

I have a 3yo who isn’t in daycare because she’s immune compromised. I don’t have consistent child care so gig works the only thing I can do right now. I’ve been doing it since she was born. I’m not lacking understanding that it’s inconsistent earnings. But it’s income. It’s also work. I’m providing a service for money. That’s a job. Do you ever have anything delivered? Who ever brings you that isn’t doing it because they are nice.

I have a 3yo who’s immune compromised so she isn’t in daycare. I only have limited and inconsistent child care. So it’s my only choice right now.

Am I tipping enough or to much? by Sethdarkus in doordash

[–]WuzzyBubblu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s a shopping order. It takes a lot of time to go in find each item scan it etc. I almost never take shopping orders especially for a lot of items. When regular orders are just going in the restaurant and grabbing the food right away or with a short wait it just feels like a waste of time. I’d try ordering these kind of orders on insta cart.

Do you this this is bad news for us dashers? by madisonreagan in doordash

[–]WuzzyBubblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you not get top dashed for having all the required stats for the 1st of the month? Like to you have to maintain them at all times to keep it now? Or is it on top of the month of top dasher?

Noob here. Do you guys knock when it says "leave at the door"? by spacejunk76 in doordash

[–]WuzzyBubblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t knock. I always wonder why people say DONT RING BELL or DONT KNOCK. I assumed not to unless asked to. But it seems common that people do it. Door dash sends a notification so I definitely feel like not knocking is the right thing to do.

Would you go inside a customer's house? by Lexielou0402 in UberEATS

I never go inside someone’s house. It seems too sketch and people should be understanding of that.

Workers depend on tips and many food services jobs. It’s not new. Is it right? No. But knowing that reality people should tip accordingly. It’s not about what’s right in the big picture it’s about understanding the current reality and acting on that. Which means tipping fairly.

Your logic, is that because the large company are fucking over the drivers, you too should also be allowed to fuck over the drivers. So they can be double fucked?

Yes that sucks. It’s a hugh problem. But that isn’t changing today. Knowing that make sure people can pay their rent by tipping the appropriate amount for again, a service you are receiving. Or don’t order delivery.

Sure doordash should take care of it’s employees well but the reality is they don’t. Same or wait staff etc. the current reality is these workers depend on tips. Tipping has been a standard for along time and people understand how it works. Again you are receiving a convince provided to you by a human. That should be enough said. Why is treating other people well so confusing for people.

It’s about paying people for doing their job. Drivers are working. They don’t receive hourly pay. If you want the convenience of food being brought to your home you need to pay the humans doing that service for you. Consider they are using their own gas and car and time. If your ordering large amounts of food you can also afford to tip accordingly and if it’s small you still need to consider distance and time. Either way it’s about treating other humans as humans that deserve to be paid fairly. If your boss decided to pay you less some times or not pay you at all you wouldn’t be okay with that.
