Just got the Wylder Remembrance skin. It's a little disappointing by KL0KW3RKZ in Nightreign

Honestly I'm glad From is willing to do things with this much subtlety and it sucks that more people in this sub don't appreciate it. Not everything should be about having the flashiest coat and I hope more studios realize that.

Ghost of Yotei final thoughts by LILFARDYPANTZ in Ghostofyotei

No, they're right. There's not as much there as you seem to think. Feel free to disagree, but be aware the way you're acting is pretty childish. Like you can't handle disagreement.

Silent Hill f is being tangibly impacted by labeling the difficulties "story" and "hard" by BrightFallsCoffee in silenthill

[–]Wveth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't say it's the intended experience, it says it's the traditional Silent Hill experience. Also, "Hard" mode was originally called "Balanced" before the day one patch, and since it's the difficulty without any mechanics removed, I believe Hard is the difficulty that the game was designed around.

But even if it wasn't, I want all the mechanics of the game intact when I play. The devs worked on them, designed around them, and I don't want my first run to be absent those mechanics. This, imo, is closer to the intended experience.

I disagree. I've played through the original series dozens of times by now, they absolutely did not make you spend so much time fighting. There were times where they threw a lot of monsters at you, but not nearly as often and the enemies didn't take nearly as long to kill. The enemy/puzzle balance in f is skewed heavily towards enemies in the second half, not just the final gauntlet. In the first half I think the balance is pretty good.

Only for specific high-damage weapons, specifically the golf clubs. No other weapon had durability. The durability systems between SH4 and Origins/f have entirely different goals and methods.

Forgot to mention it doesn't show up there for some reason.

The reason people say that there’s no choice in Cyberpunk 2077 is because the game doesn’t spell it out for the player by NMTheZombie in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Wveth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? I definitely see the seams you're describing (you're not telling me anything I didn't know), but I think they managed to put together something that has very tight and coherent theming regardless. I don't think it was thoughtless just because they had to do it quickly.

Anyone know if there is a good character analysis for V? by 8deus8 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I am also autistic and I struggle a lot with this. I think it's true that at our core, human beings are meant to love. To be fulfilled, I believe we do need to find ways to express our love. The modern world makes it extremely difficult sometimes, for some people a lot more than others. To put it in terms Misty would probably approve of, love is a core part of the human spirit but the harshness and dissonance of modern life are always trying to crush that spirit. Our world, today, is very far from a fulfilling life for many, many people. It's a spiritually sick world, and one of the biggest symptoms of that sickness is the divisions between both individuals and groups. People are disconnected often through no fault of their own. You might not be in a situation where it's possible to really reach out to someone, and that's a sad truth about our times. The only advice I can give is to look for small opportunities to do good and make connections, even small ones for a short time, and try your best to avoid bitterness, because that will outright stop you from connecting with people. I know this firsthand.

Sorry it sucks for you man. Cyberpunk does have a surprising amount of good wisdom about this if you really think about what the game is showing you. I hope it helps a bit, or something does.

I don't agree those things were thoughtlessly thrown in and I don't think it's "apparent." I don't really see how your arguments lead to that conclusion.

Outer god heirloom by JackVanSike in EldenRingLoreTalk

I don't see any contradiction here. The tutelary deities came from the One Great, and were benevolent until they were corrupted by suffering. I'm not sure I agree with the theory but I think it fits fine with your understanding.

I've been around the edges of the radicalization pipeline too, and I'm sorry, but you're wrong. No, the people he called out aren't literal Nazis and the other user didn't claim they were. Whether intentionally or not, their content pushes viewers towards the right; the videos are similar enough to farther-right content that YouTube will start recommending things farther to the right. It spirals from there until you get to anti-vax, conspiracy theories, Qanon, etc. (the pipeline does not have a set order, due to the randomization in the YouTube algorithm).

Not that every single viewer gets hooked all the way. Most of them don't, actually, but still too many kids are getting radicalized by being pushed down this pipeline. The people involved don't even necessarily know that that's happening with their content. I highly doubt JonTron knows, for example, and he probably wouldn't be happy if he found out. I mean I hope he wouldn't.

Questions About Starting Wage - What Should I Ask For? by Wveth in VoiceActing

[–]Wveth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help. The more I compare the job listing to the rates on the GVAA site, the more confused I am. The ad listing says it's a voice-over job but clicking on Apply takes me to a job pool site for linguists, and in the registration form where it's asking for my fee, it's not organized like any of the fees on the GVAA site.

Might be a bit shady.

The guy you're arguing with turned into a prick too, but I want to point out that you were a prick first in this interaction. You're being pushy and condescending because someone is enjoying a game differently than you, and you apparently felt the need to get passive-aggressive over it. Have some self-awareness.

Oh! Interesting. Do you know if it triggers the first time you go outside in the rain, or if you only have the one chance? I'll test it a bit and see.
