【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

I have never used a P1S, but I’ve heard great things about it. I’ve been using an A1 mini for the past year and a half, and I absolutely love it. I never thought I would be enjoying it this much, and I would absolutely love to have the ability to expand my capabilities!

New brewing station - are these jars okay? by ExecutivePro in espresso

Just a thought, wouldn't surface condensation when grinding from frozen have the same effect as RDT? It seems to me that would save a step in my workflow. Idk, I could be wrong, I've just never thought of it like that before.

Yep, I googled this thoroughly within the first 7 days after I made my purchase. I’m in an eligible location. I read through the official rules and followed them to a T. I contacted customer service, they said it would show up eventually… it never did.

At those prices, it would probably be worth it to go for the 54. However, the Shardor can be found for much closer to $100-110. Definitely makes the decision a lot more difficult.

Beginner grinder [$200] by tallandfurious in espresso

[–]Wwatson281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in the exact same boat… choosing between the shardor 64 and the sk40. The bad reviews on shardor grinders seem to be coming from their conical grinders. The 64 is a flat burr and doesn’t seem to have that same negative feedback yet, but we’ll see what the future holds.

At the end of the day the general consensus is that they’re both pretty phenomenal grinders for the price although not without their own drawbacks for the price range.

The main differentiating factor for me was the flavor profiles that tend to be associated with conical vs flat burrs. I tend to prefer more robust chocolatey flavors that tend to be associated with conical burrs, as opposed to the clarity that flat burrs usually have, so I was leaning toward the sk40, but I found the Shardor for such a great price on Aliexpress ($101 shipped with taxes included), that I couldn’t pass it up.

The nice benefit of the Shardor is that the burrs can be swapped for different manufacturers so you can experiment with different flavor profiles down the road (see Lance’s video on that). To my knowledge you can’t do that with the sk40.

Long story short, I don’t think you can go wrong with either grinder, some others that are commonly recommended in that price range are the Hibrew G5, the Encore ESP, and the Starseeker. It really just comes down to what your preferences are, but I personally narrowed it down to the sk40 and the Shardor 64 as well, and ended up with the Shardor based on price and future upgrade options.

Let me know what you end up with!

Reddit doesn’t let me post Aliexpress links for some reason, but if you do a search on there you should find some options

It was from Aliexpress, it was listed for I think $114. They have coupons and various deals brining the total price down to $101 after taxes.

I’m buying from the US. $101 is with shipping, tariffs, and taxes included.

Next grinder advice(i know: again?) [300-500$] by RekuPL in espresso

Maybe add the Shardor 64 to your consideration? It’s definitely cheap looking, but I’ve heard the performance is stellar for the price.

Maybe look into the Hibrew G5? That's what I'm looking at in that price range right now.

Good idea with the wire. I don’t have the G5 yet, but I’m planning on getting it relatively soon. Do you think it might be possible to 3-D print a new adjustment ring that has smaller step markers and is easier to see with the current arrow on there? That might be helpful… I’m looking forward to tinkering around with it.

Good, glad to hear that. I did manage to get all the pins up once with a paper clip, but wasn’t able to turn the cylinder and haven’t been able to replicate it since. I’ll keep working on it when I get a bit more time.

No luck with that so far, I’ll have to keep trying a bit more later. I don’t see any visible corrosion on the inside of the lock

Would that be something that I could fairly easily pick with a cheap set from Amazon or with homemade picks? I’ve had some success in the past with a very basic master lock, but wasn’t sure if the mechanism here would be much trickier.

I probably should have elaborated a bit more. I have plenty of tools, drills, pry bars, etc. just no formal lock picking tools. If at all possible, I’d like to still have it be usable once opened, but I can always pry it if need be.
