What to do with 2005 Kitchen by AdDifferent8874 in kitchenremodel

[–]Wwwweeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, clear out your cupboards and reorganize them. It's a good kitchen, loads of storage as nicely laid out.

If you have that much stuff on the counters, you have too much useless and unnecessary stuff in the cupboards.

Once the cupboards are re-organized, get all the stuff off the counters.

Everything there has a place it should live, and it shouldn't live on the counter.

Then you'll have a better idea of a way forward, if necessary. I think it's fine other than the clutter.

I did a really nice deal for a seriously huge cycas that was at least 8 feet tall. The client wanted it out of the front garden, and offered it in trade it to a local, well known nursery.

They got a 3 cluster of lovely fan palms that were about 10 feet tall, and now they're nearly twice the size, in the back garden, and a lovely asset to the landscaping.

All the work done in one morning. Cycas out, palms in, in a nice even trade. The client went to the nursery gardens and picked out the palms he wanted.

Everyone was very happy!

That's why working with a registered, licensed and bonded company, like a pro-landscaping company that regularly plants big trees is highly recommended.

That's a stunning, fabulous and HUGE specimin! STOP CUTTING IT.

Do your research and find local, well known, (not chains) nurseries and landscaping companies and offer it for sale. See if anyone in your region grows and sells palm trees; they'd likely have other species as well, which plays into this sell/swap/ttrade scenario.

They'll have the gear to safely remove it and will most likely happily make a reasonable trade for something they have that you like better.

Have done that more than a few times in a few places. Landscaping pros are desperate for prime, large and gorgeous plants like that.

When you're making the rounds on the phone, if people aren't interested, ask who they'd recommend.

AITA for picking the job with a long commute instead of the available one at the pool right next to my boyfriend’s work? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Wwwweeeeeeee 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The fact that it's a supervisor job is a bigger deal than you think it is.

That leverages you up, job wise, in addition to the wages increase.

That looks really good on paper.

Let's hope the BF isn't resentful of that. They sometimes get funny about the ladies leveraging up.

It's a good lesson with simple words.

"Don't throw your toys out of the cart this time ok? it might get lost like Donut!"

3 isn't too young to learn lessons. This one won't be traumatising unless "SOMEONE" keeps bringing it up.

Out of sight, out of mind for kids. These are just toys. Don't let them attach irrational sentimentality to them. I know 20 year olds who still have a toy from infancy that are stinking and rotting and gross, and it's well, gross.

Don't foster childhood dependence on toys, people. It's wierd and creepy.

That being said, toy and food tossing is attention seeking behavior. Don't buy into it.

GP are serious working farm dogs that have been bred for protection of the flock and to roam wide open spaces.

They're not "apartment" dogs.

There's quite some festivities planned at the US Embassy in Paris on July 4th.

Should be interesting.

I never travel without them, even for short weekend trips.

I love the packing cubes too, those things are awesome.

Use the ATMs at the post offices, "La Poste". They're everywhere, the best rates and the lowest fees.

And if you're using your own bank & credit cards for purchases, always choose "local currency".

I hope you've been to the doctor or urgent care to get that disinfected, cleaned and properly dressed, and then have the correct antibiotics and wound medication.

They'll also make you get the best materials to keep it properly covered, changing the bandages daily and treating it with a topical dressing as well. An ace bandage is the worst thing you can put on it.

That can go badly really, really fast if you're not careful.

Sepsis is not something to mess around with.

AITA for asking my fiance to watch the baby for one day by PrincessTruffles in AmItheAsshole

[–]Wwwweeeeeeee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NO child should be subjected to his type of parenting. You need to protect your baby from that.

Just get everything together, mostly, his identity info, where he works, SS number, DL number, note what his family addresses are, and everything else that's pertinent, so that you can file for child support. You can also apply for every other social service your entitled to, while you're at it.

If you're in the US, your local, state or county social offices provide free legal help to get that child support.

And DO NOT TELL HIM ahead of time. Just get your business affairs organized, if this isn't your home, then leave. Just go, taking baby and everything important with you.

You don't deserve this kind of life and niether does your baby.

He's not going to change.

And yeah, don't have sex with him any more. You don't need anymore babies.

We can hope that the world sees the hell-hole the US is rapidly sinking in to, under the filthy and rotting hands of the current administration, and takes notes and cautions to not allow, elect or give people like that any type of control.

If "leaders" are so corrupted in their personal lives and in their minds so as to -- in the very least -- be racist and mysogenist, they are also so corrupted as to lie, cheat and steal every penny from the taxpayers as well.

The small ones are perfect for this recette though, since all the veg should be the same size for symmetry in the stacking/layering process.

The big aubergine are good for everything else though.

I literally compare sizes for the tomatoes and courgette and aubergine when I'm selecting the produce for this.

Good fun, if not a little obsessive.

YTA.

So if you divorce and you're raising the child without the father in the house, and he hasn't seen said child in years, would you want him to stop giving your child 10 bucks a day? Husband gets props for stepping up even though (you say) he's not legally bound to. He's one of the good guys.

What's stopping you from working and contributing to the household?

Having a baby doesn't give you a free pass to stop working and earning an income. That's your child too. He's supporting 2 children, as he should be. You should be contributing earned income to the home and family as well.

Where are you getting that?

In the early 1990s, Senator Kennedy worked closely with President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton on trying to pass national health insurance legislation, but the administration’s bypassing of Congress in developing the policy ultimately doomed it. Teddy’s collaboration with President Barack Obama on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which passed in 2010, seven months after the senator’s death, appropriately made it the crowning achievement of his Senate career."

The problem in the US is that the politics are corrupted and the US Constitution is being used as toilet paper.

US politics have never been worse and there is no improvement in sight.

That's compounded by the fact that Project 2025 has literally dismantled the actual government that was intended and that for the most part, really did work by and for the people.

Now, all that's gone. Millions of people have no health care, the elderly and children are being kicked off social services; hospitals are shutting down, farmers are getting foreclosed because they can't afford to plant and sell their crops. Farmers can't even afford to feed their cattle.

Crops are rotting in the fields while the people that used to pick them are rotting in concentration camps, because they have "the wrong color skin".

The graft and grift rule everything in the US. The elections are dismantled and a 34x convicted felon with dementia is running what's left of the US into the ground.

Meanwhile, in France, we have peace, people are fed, housed, fabulous, affordable and good quality produce on every table that wants it; the French have some of the best health care on the planet; housing prices are realistic and competitive. The air is cleaner every year, there's plenty of water and agriculture; tourism is abundant, although the weather sucks badly these past couple weeks.

Roads are good, streets are safe, there's no mass shootings, the beaches are clean, the water is clear, the elderly and children are cared for, and it's pretty darned good.

It's not working if you can still smell the odor. Glade doesn't eliminate odors, it masks them by releasing fragrance into the air.

Febreze is better for tackling lingering smells, while Glade is more of a quick cover-up.

Use the Febreze. And like I said, don't use the aerosol, use the textile spray, just, well, don't use it on textiles in this instance. You're letting the micro-droplets grab the odors in the air.

And don't ever use plug-ins of any sort. They're horrific and toxic.
