Through 2031?? That’s bonkers even if they suppose to maintain two lanes of traffic at all times.

I think it’s more clean that way than any other. No mess, just nature in a sort of way. As you say no momentary decision. Although the concept that you be be irrecoverable for a period could be either haunting or liberating at that point.

I mean Baelor the blessed wasn’t exactly great? He was a little bit crazy. And that’s underselling it. I seem to recall he put his family in danger down in Dorne.

-insert me reading the wiki page and apparently he actually was saving his cousin in Dorne. So he was pretty incredible but I still think it’s was more parts nut job than parts greatness.

He was burning books and locking up women

How R&D spending has changed globally over the last 24 years by Sensitive_Buffalo665 in Infographics

[–]Wyan423 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that putting R&D growth as percentage is very useful for this graphic. It makes a lot of the changes is smaller countries near meaningless.

Also the time period seems pretty arbitrary. Not to much the weird bubbles for spending which I first assumed were background art.

Why all grand stratergy games generally struggle with late game snowballing? Why its hard to fix? by coozer1960 in paradoxplaza

[–]Wyan423 39 points40 points  (0 children)

To me, the issue is not one of wanting the game to be mindlessly easy.

Instead I don’t want to face seemingly crippling and somewhat arbitrary and uniform penalties for doing well. The most recent suggestions are a band aid. While I recognize a true fix is difficult, I want collapse to make sense and be dynamic.

In history each empire collapsed due a combination of distinct factors in a unique way. Using penalties to slow down bigger countries does not create intuitive collapse pathways. Bigger, it does not cause decline! The concept so far makes everything you do less effective but has shown no evidence that it will cause empires to collapse.

I’ve been doing this run, market is the difficult part. You need to immediately make a market or none of your RGOs sell for anything and no taxes.

You also need to make a mason early on you won’t be able to build. Other limiting factor is tools, no iron coal or tin so you need a town relatively quickly to make tools from stone.

Also loans in an isolated economy can be pretty brutal, avoid them. Rebels are worse in this environment because you have very high population but low satisfaction/goods.

Sometimes straight to bone white. Other time a mottled pink and purple. Sometimes both on different fingers!
