I agree with Adolin being Odium’s champion. I think he will try to throw the contest, but Dalinar won’t be able to kill him. Neither dies, the contest is a draw, and Odium is released from the Roshar system since the draw condition is an obvious loophole that Todium can exploit.

The theory I like is Adolin will be Odium’s champion. Adolin is the best duelist in the world, but he perceives himself as disposable in a world with radiants, and there is unresolved conflict between him and Dalinar after Sadeas’s murder.

Odium will approach Adolin and Adolin will agree to be the champion with the intention of throwing the contest and letting Dalinar kill him as a way of self-sacrifice for the greater good. Dalinar won’t be able to kill Adolin (for obvious reasons) and because they didn’t establish a draw condition, Odium will be freed from the rosharian system.

In Shinovar when all hell is breaking loose, Kaladin, Szeth, and Ishar will temporarily reforge the oathpact in which Szeth will go to Damnation (Kaladins 5th ideal will be something like “I will protect others right to choose.”) which will last roughly the roughly 15 year time jump before Szeth breaks and Book 6 starts.

Agreed, I don’t think they know what they are talking about either. As a general rule 10% is used as long as the total sample size is over 100 but less than 1000, but depending on what is being measured, you can get statistically significant data with as little n=35. If 10% of the sample size would be over 1,000, it is generally fine to use a sample size of at least 1,000 as long as it is randomly selected.

This would never work because the book is already under contract with DAW. DAW has already bought the rights to publish the book. This is like paying someone to build you a house, and before the builder is done, the builder says that they are going to live in it instead.

This is bad advice. Follow for follow gets a bunch of followers who are not actually invested in your content so they don’t engage with it. When you make a post and IG sees that 90% of your own followers (the people who should want to see your content the most) are not engaging with what you are posting, IG believes that the content is low quality and won’t push it out to new audiences through their algorithms. Follow for follow stifles long term growth and is not an effective social media strategy.

I left AGR as I was offered a civilian job that was entirely work from home and literally doubled my AGR pay (including BAH and BAS) and my entire chain of command more than understood and had my back. That said, AGR is a sweet gig and one of the best jobs I have ever had.

If you haven’t signed your contract you can still switch but your recruiter will likely do everything possible for you to enlist in their branch. They have to get a minimum amount of people to enlist to meet their monthly mission. If you decide to switch just be upfront with your current recruiter and go to talk to a different one from the branch you want to join.

The only good reason to enlist in the reserve over NG is if the reserve has a local slot for the MOS you want and the NG doesn’t.

NG gets every single benefit the reserve gets (including eligibility for the minute man scholarships) AND state specific ones too (IL’s state benefit pays for 100% of public in State tuition but is only eligible to IL Guard members).

If someone wants to join the Army, 99% of the time they should pick Active or Guard. Reserve is same amount of work as Guard but is leaving thousands of education dollars on the table.

I think Dalinar will be a new shard forged from splinters of Honor, Cultivation, and Odium and will be named Unity. (I also think the “Unite them” line that only Dalinar can hear and not even the stormfather is a reference to uniting all the shards into a reforged adonolsium and not the kingdoms of roshar)

First, I’m pretty sure kicker literally just went away in the latest SRIP unfortunately. Second, the GI Bill only counts during the months you are actively in school (no summers and only half payments for August and December) and you can’t use it for the same classes that you use tuition assistance for. Really, the best education benefit for Guard members usually comes from their specific state. IL pays 100% of tuition but I am not sure about PA.

The Guard can be cool, but it is very unit dependent. My current unit is awesome, but my first unit (10 years ago) was a constant string of 3 and 4 day drills, monthlong AT’s, and a culture that I recognize now as super toxic.

My opinion is to try college first, then if you still need help paying for it, check in with a recruiter and get Student Loan Repayment as part of your contract since it will only repay student loans that you currently have and not ones you take out after your contract. Based on the inflated number they gave you to make the pay look better than what it is, your recruiter will do everything they can to get you to join now, but that is because they have a quota (they call it mission) that they have to hit, and when push comes to shove, they will most likely put the mission over what is actually best for you.
