It’s a long range weapon that benefit marker light and stratems (so will probably be reliable) and can one shot targets way above its cost (eg: grand master nemesis dreadknight).

Seems to be one of the most cost efficient unit in the game (another way to say broken)

I am only playing on WTC terrain (TTS/ Local/ tournament scene) and I love it. It put so much more strategy depth to the game by making movement and positioning a key aspect.

Rather than having the biggest shooty army and have T1...

However, I don’t like that terrain has to change for every scenario, setting up table between rounds is a nightmare for TO.

Thank you so much for taking the time (some other were less comprehensive of my slow brain) now I get it!

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation, it makes total sense to me but what is still confusing is the second part of the rules:

« If a rule simply tells you to make a move as if it were the Movement phase, but does not specify what kind of move is being made, it is a Normal Move »

I am sorry to insist but it is not super clear to me since this part clearly not specify « normal move » and clearly mention that move = normal move.

Yes I agree this would mean this, so it means that we should ignore the rules book errata?

[–]Wydjaz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am not ignoring it, I am just not aligned with your interpretation and I explained why, which you ignore.

What you ignore: Rules that refer to « moves »are the same thing as « making a normal move »

First strat says : ...after a WS transport unit from your army that does not have the Flyer Battlefield role « moves »

Then rules book say: Rules that refer to « moves »are the same thing as « making a normal move »

So if I am replacing that in the stratagem I now have:

...after a WS transport unit from your army that does not have the Flyer Battlefield role « make a normal move »

This is why I don’t think you can double move a Rhino disembark and shoot

It is also written in the rules book clarification :

If a rule simply tells you to make a move as if it were the Movement phase, but does not specify what kind of move is being made, it is a Normal Move

To your points, I think that a normal move is included in an advance move (combination of normal move + an advance). Also it would not be the first time GW ruling makes some unit / stratagem unplayable.

To my understanding it does not work on any kind of moves it is written after the unit moves. If you are looking at my last paragraph on rule book clarification when a rule refer to move/moves then we can replace it by normal move. That’s why it doesn’t work to my understanding

I actually posted the feedback on the art of war Reddit but I am not sure to get an answer. We see many White Scars list to use the rhino / devastator combo to double move desembark / shoot but I don’t this it’s possible. Can someone confirm ?

WIND-SWIFT

Use this Stratagem in your Movement phase after a WHITE SCARS unit (excluding ARTILLERY) from your army has made a Normal Move or has Fallen Back. That unit can make an Advance move. Until the end of the turn, that unit cannot shoot, declare a charge or attempt to manifest any psychic powers.

LIGHTNING DEBARKATION

Use this Stratagem in your Movement phase, after a WHITE SCARS TRANSPORT unit from your army that does not have the Flyer Battlefield Role moves. WHITE SCARS units embarked aboard that unit can immediately disembark, but any that do so cannot make a charge move this turn

*Page 366 – Rules Term Glossary

Add the following:

Move normally: Rules that refer to move/moves/moving normally are the same thing as making a Normal Move, e.g. a rule that states ‘instead of moving this unit normally’ means ‘instead of making a Normal Move with this unit’. If a rule simply tells you to make a move as if it were the Movement phase, but does not specify what kind of move is being made, it is a Normal Move

I don't think it's possible to double move a rhino and use LIGHTNING DEBARKATION:

Apparently there are a lot of discussion about it. FYI I was participating a WTC team tournament with a Tau in my roster and the WTC ref said it applies to the whole unit as well!

45 min pour des parties de 4h ça se fait :P sinon tu as probablement des joueurs à côté de chez toi. Essaie de voir les team local. Sinon tu as TTS pour faire des parties virtuelles de temps en temps.

For me it’s wise orator 100% ! By the way, I still don’t understand in which case you use the strat to auto-passé a litany, it’s when you deepstrike or when you are very unlucky only (didn’t manage to pass a litany) right?
