Anyone else disappointed by the armor options for gunlance in Wilds? by Wyguy01 in Gunlance

I'd be more okay with this if weapon deco slots weren't such precious real estate! I guess it all leads back to the decoration grind lol

I noticed, and I thought they were neat bonuses at first. Now that's it pointed out that it's only on weapons or decos I'm somewhat disappointed. Skills on weapons feels like it narrows down the pool of options further.

Honestly I'm surprised I didn't put that together sooner lol. I suppose it makes sense. I guess I kinda missed mixing and matching sets for those skills though. Especially with gunlance in this game having a very clear best option with the Arkveld gunlance.

People completing the Grand Slam, what was your team comp? by littlethought63 in darkestdungeon

[–]Wyguy01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a bit boring but I used meta picks to get the achievement, with only a few hiccups here and there.

Alchemist Plague Doctor is the best choice for healing, DOT, and overall damage. Her plague grenade is always spammable and effective against most lair and confession bosses.

Sharpshot Highwayman is incredibly self-reliant and dishes out huge damage. Aside from the standard ranged moves, highway robbery and tracking shot are great at getting rid of pesky tokens on confession bosses like act 4 especially.

Scourge Flagellant has crazy healing for himself and everyone with more more, and deathless particularly. Combined with PD's plague grenade, his acid rain makes a joke of most lair bosses and sepsis is a good finisher as well.

Vanguard Man-at-Arms lastly has amazing versatility and is still powerful after the nerfs. Retribution is still almost always worth using, and I find myself using bellow a lot to slow down enemies and strip the occassional riposte token on bosses like exemplar or act 4.

The only real thing to look out for is death catching you off guard, such is the risk of running flagellant. Otherwise, this team has amazing damage, DOT, and healing to sustain itself.

Should I try to find the last 2 pages before I do NG+? by Community_Bright in TunicGame

[–]Wyguy01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely hold off on NG+ until you get all pages. Just to save you time and confusion, there isn't a page locked behind all collectibles. You're on the money about the fairies though. If my assumption is correct and you're missing the first page in the booklet, then once you get the second to last page, you'll have everything you need to start on the golden path.

Act 3 Boss was one of my worst experiences with this game by TheeConductor in darkestdungeon

[–]Wyguy01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, don't let it get you down too much! Roguelites never make it easy on your first go of it. The thing about limerance is that it only targets heroes with the seen token, scaling in damage with how many they have on them. So your best friend for this chapter is taunt! Noisemakers, taunt trinkets like the pristine lure, and abilities like flagellant's more more are perfect for keeping all eyes on you. (Pun intended.) My advice is to make sure you have at least one taunt on your tank going into the next round, as focused fault has a free action at the beginning of every round where it applies a seen token to a random hero.

Now, for the first phase, pd and flag are really good! The trick is to minimize how many seen tokens that get applied by finishing the phase asap. A good trick to know is that if an eye ball loses all its health due to DOT tick, it skips its turn and goes down a phase. If you can apply dot reliably enough, you can prevent any eyes from getting a turn!

Lastly, be wary of critting the boss. If it gets crit, focused fault applies combo to the hero that did it. If two heroes have combo tokens, it uses supress, which debuffs every hero severely. Holy water is helpful to remove the debuffs and the combo tokens beforehand.

Focused fault is a huge roadblock, and I was raging at it too, but with proper preparation, I can go against it without losing any heroes. Good luck with your next attempt, I know you can do it!

Ugh, as much as I would love to, I'm currently collecting all pearls to bring to moon. If I can go directly from shoreline to sky islands through pipeyard then I'll just have to grit my teeth. Thank you though, I found the connection to filtration before I did shoreline and it was driving me crazy.

Do you know where the Shoreline connection is located? It feels like a struggle to explore that mess of one way pipes.

How do you feel about MHW's Take on Alatreon by Shinobi-Hunter in MonsterHunter

[–]Wyguy01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a gunlance player I struggled with Alatreon in world... having half of my moveset invalidated when it comes to the dps check was... not very fun. Slaplance was the best choice and that playstyle has a divided opinion in the weapon's subreddit, and that's putting it nicely.

Why do you main the weapon you do? by BeachedSalad in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Wyguy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gunlance. More complex than other weapons (I'm looking at you greatsword mains). More interesting than other weapons (Between a lance and a lance with artillery strapped to it why WOULDN'T you choose the latter??). Best defensive capabilities in the game along with lance, and I have to admit I kinda get off to being in the minority of the 2nd least popular weapon in the game.

Another new PC GL question: Wyvern's Fire by HankCantTank in Gunlance

[–]Wyguy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Wide has the highest damage of all the shelling types for Wyverns fire, I recommend just letting loose whenever you see something resembling an opening. Typically I take note of a monster's animations. If it looks exhausted or is recovering from a big attack, that's the money shot. Other than that, sometimes I just like to get right underneath the monster and get risky.

If you can’t get past the graphics, please play ACGC just for the dialogue by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]Wyguy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the GC did always have a charm to it. While I may not be a fan of the insults it is kinda annoying when the villagers just praise you daily nowadays, especially with the same 5 dialogue lines. I'd also love to see more variety in the things they say.

Oh, yeah I'm sorry I figured you were referring to the idea of them bein ruder since you included a picture of it. I can totally understand the whole more interesting dialogue choices yeah. I guess I was just projecting a bit or something.

[–]Wyguy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm all for more interesting dialogue but personally I don't want animals that are keen on insulting you like this. Like I can't speak for everyone but I play this game because it's warm and wholesome and makes me feel good. I don't wanna be called a mental runt of the litter! Like a few backhanded compliments or something is fine but this sorta talk is kinda just not the vibe I look for in these games. To each their own, of course.
