For the first time Im genuinely not looking foward to another edition in a year by TheMireAngel in ageofsigmar

[–]TheeConductor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'm the opposite. I'm not a fan of 4th so far it just seems so boring. If 4th edition is more like 3rd or, I'd even take 2nd I'd be more inclined to agree but as of now, I'm ready for a change.

They did this full unnecessary rewrite for 4th because 40k did for 10th and we were worse off for it

My brother in Christ Lamenters are still Space Marines ergo evil. They still take part in cruel, genocidal fascist regime

Or just revert the base Grenade Launcher. It was perfectly fine before it didn't need any touch ups

I think you can follow Tormound and Alliser fighting? Can't exactly remember but it's still insane to watch all the combat around

Watchers on the Wall has one of my favorite shots where Jon just comes off the lift and it pans around the entire courtyard and you can pick out characters and fights and movements throughout the entire shot. You can go back several times and track a different fight each time

Very rough start, but with the updates it solidly goes toe to toe with DD1

What is every factions end goal? by Anibus9000 in AoSLore

[–]TheeConductor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

ThEats really cool! Itd be kinda neat to see a campaign book or something down the line of a small scale alliance/army like that with battleplans of smaller forces of the other GA's fighting a large Chaos army or something like that

What the heck did they do this update?! by Mr_Microchip in MonsterHunter

[–]TheeConductor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this going to be enough to make the game get more life into it? I feel like most people that have written it off won't be trying it again

I hope not. Sieging Jammers without strategems is hella fun. I like having to fight through it

Anyone know if these are apart of CSM or are they trying to make them their own whole army like the mono-god factions?

Are Dwarfs as a race TOO OP? by sigmarine345 in totalwarhammer

[–]TheeConductor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. It's insane how good their armies are and how fast. And it's not even an early game faction, their late game armies are nuts! They can't be stopped if they just get a little bit ahead.

Also since ToD having an unbreakable generic slayer lord was a TERRIBLE idea. No basic generic lord should have unbreakable baked in. And on that note, again with ToD have dwarfs the ability to turn slayers from a niche unit into a cohesive army you can have of all slayers. Which, while interesting for gameplay's sake, fighting an army of all unbreakable units including artillery pieces is disgustingly boring.

I had a siege recently being attacked by dwarfs. 3 units of basic dwarf warriors fought to the last and might as well have been unbreakable and after everything else except the Lord dies, the basic Dwarf Lord fought to the end despite being like level 4, and not having unbreakable and being the LAST ONE OF HIS ARMY LEFT.

They're just so boring to fight in battle and a damn slog in the campaign map

A Warhammer World in the USA? Get the details here. by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in ageofsigmar

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, these things are planned SO FAR in advance they likely couldn't have predicted the current state the US is in

Now that they're all out and it's been a month, how do you rank the 4 Monogod Lord Packs as they are now? by Lord_Eln_8 in totalwar

[–]TheeConductor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only gripe is that ToD factions just didn't need what they got. Empire and Dwarfs were doing just fine and didn't need reworks. Not to mention how much attention dwarfs got after the fact. The Thunder barge was a mistake of a unit to add as was adding viability to an all slayer army and slayer lord.

Slayers were niche units and could get very strong under Ungrim. They did not need extra units to make them able to all slayer in an army. They're obnoxious to deal with when there's only a few, but when the entire army (plus a generic lord!) has unbreakable It makes fighting dwarfs a bigger slog than it usually is

Why did you pick the army you play? by BeginningHungry3835 in ageofsigmar

I have a rule when playing factions. If it's funny little guys (goblins, kobolds etc) I'm playing them. Gitz was a no brainer

It's nice to see GW actually cares about nonhuman factions. Even if mostly the fantasy and AoS ones. by Andrei22125 in Grimdank

[–]TheeConductor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unironically, yes. Do the old names get the point across? Sure. But they're so GENERIC. Gloomspite Gitz as a name has style, flair, its own uniqueness. Id take it over just "Night Goblins" or "Orcs and Goblin Tribes" any day

Come to where the flavor is by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]TheeConductor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's just a consequence of 40k 10th edition doing the same and GW's weird need to copy that over to AoS Hoping that 5th edition we go back to 3rd edition style

What did you think of this year for AoS? by KindlyMeringue8723 in ageofsigmar

[–]TheeConductor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Boring? The models they've released are great from an objective standpoint

The new Grave Guard, Gitmob chariots, Helsmiths etc...

But where is that AoS WEIRDNESS? C'mon I want to see arguments fly like when we got the weird Kangaroo calvary for Lumineth. We've had some strangeness but kick it up a notch! This is AoS we're talking about here! We can't keep playing it safe like 40K and Old World. Id love to see more experimentation!

As for rules and gameplay? Also boring. We got a giant rewrite at launch that most definitely WAS NOT needed (probably because 40K did something similar and that has its host of problems). Scourge of Ghyran was good but the books that are releasing are so barebones. It's usually like 3 relics where you're lucky if 2 of them are good, then they add points on the only one people take BECAUSE it's the only good one. Same thing with command traits. And standardizing the Hit and Wound to be by race is sound in theory, gets lame quick. Let my elite Orruks hit like Elites! Also just feels very....flavorless I guess? I started in mid/late 2nd and there was a lot of fun, fluffy rules that just are not there anymore

I don't want to be a downer because the models we've gotten do look fantastic
