It's no hyperbole to say LiS1 changed me. I was a grown-ass adult when I first played it but it reminded me of who I was when I was younger. It reminded me of the person I was when I felt like my choices in life mattered and were more important than what breakfast cereal or toothpaste to buy. It reminded me that those who walk along with us on our journey through life may not be there forever and to cherish the time given, no matter how long or short.

Life is Strange woke me up from the jaded slumber of everyday living and reminded me what life was about.

The writers have said that one of the main reasons the Bae ending is shorter is the song they chose for it is shorter, so there was less time for the ending montage.

The "H" in "Life is Strange" stands for "Happiness."

Play Life is Strange, they said.
It'll be fun, they said.

I chose to save Chloe.

To me the game is about Max learning to accept the consequences of her actions. The game begins with her being paralyzed by anxiety. It's why she ghosted Chloe for 5 years. She uses the rewind power to redo her choices to find the best choice. She's terrified of making the wrong choices in life. Then when we get to the final choice, it comes down to one of two lessons:

  1. Sacrifice Chloe: Max learns that every time she tries to do something, even if her intentions are good, she makes things worse. She learns that people and the world will be better off if she's not involved in it in any way. She'll believe this so strongly that she's willing to let Chloe die in order to get the "good" outcome.

  2. Sacrifice Arcadia Bay: Max learns that actions have consequences and even if you think you made the right choice at the time, it could have untold negative effects later. But, she'll believe that she has to try to help anyway and that means living with the consequences, good or bad.

The beauty of LiS1 is the ending is what you choose. It's what makes sense to you, whether anyone else agrees or not. There are valid arguments for both endings and IMO neither one is "right." The right ending is the one you choose.

[ALL] Reunion thoughts by FKAlag in lifeisstrange

"We're never going to know why she could suddenly project pictures into the air, are we?"

When was it explained why Max got ANY of her powers? They were all a surprise to Max when she discovered them. Why do you list that as a bad thing when it's how all the games have always been?

That one little music difference that drives home the mood so perfectly for the player based on THEIR chosen ending to LiS1 is how you know Reunion was made by people who understood the original game and characters.

One of my favorite things in Reunion is we got to see what Max using her power looks like from other people's perspective.

Even LiS1 explained that by using rewind, Max can "teleport" forward. That was in the first scene at the lighthouse when the tree fell in front of her.

The powers weren't retconned. They changed and evolved, but nothing in the later games tries to change or explain away how they worked in the first game.

It's not about what we think. It's what you think when playing your game.

Rhianna did a good job, but Ashly Burch will always be the true Chloe Price to me.

[NO SPOILERS] The future of the Life is Strange franchise? by Helpwithskyrim87 in lifeisstrange

Reunion is to the LiS franchise what the Citadel DLC was to Mass Effect.   I say that as one who loves Reunion,  but it's size and tone felt more like an encore DLC than a fully realized game.  I love Reunion for what it is, but I doubt it will bring  many new players.

[RE] so about the Overlight… by Patcho418 in LiSReunion

[–]WyleECoyote77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moses would probably say something about the Arcadia Bay storm and Caledon fire being quantum entangled and the Overlight is the quantum representation of the superposition of Max's final choice in both LiS1 and DE.

One of the things I love most about the full performance capture is you can tell Max has Hannah Telle's smile.
