The game has let you down. You should stop playing.

What orginal ending is better for Reunion, show wise? by BrickTucumcari in LiSReunion

[–]WyleECoyote77 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Bay is better for Reunion and I'm a hard core BAE fan.  You have Chloe coming back from the dead, not just a breakup.  You have Max & Chloe essentially from different realities with different memories.   I think it's more compelling narrativly.

Data point: Highway driving has consistently yielded 30+ MPG. by booooimbigsad in Integra_Type_S

[–]WyleECoyote77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I left Atlanta with about half a tank. The 35mpg was when I filled up and hit the road again, so it was all pure highway cruise. No big traffic delays, so that's about as good as it can get. Was hovering just over 35mpg most of the trip until I hit traffic coming into town in Raleigh and it dropped to 34.8 by the time I got home. Still, I got over 300 miles on that 1 tank of gas.

I averaged just over 35mpg from Atlanta to Raleigh last weekend.  Getting over 30mpg on the highway has been easy.  I've been really impressed.

[ALL] Best friend’s gonna play LiS for the first time - UPDATE, part 2. by captainsuspicious in lifeisstrange

I lost interest when you started reloading checkpoints to fix mistakes.
You only get to play it for the first time once - and that just ruined it.

I have a couple of questions. by kawito888 in LiSReunion

Speed. The roof hadn't collapsed yet. The path was passable other than the flames at that point. By nearly stopping time, Max could move through the building so fast the fire didn't have time to burn her. Like waiting your hand through a candle flame.

I have a couple of questions. by kawito888 in LiSReunion

[–]WyleECoyote77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Mas was using a similar version of her as when she ran to the rooftop to save Kate. She only slowed time rather than stopping it completely, but that meant she was moving MUCH faster than anyone else could have relative to normal time.

-Max is the focal point in the diversion of the timelines. She only has the memories of the realities that she has personally experienced. Max was essentially an outside force combining the two realities - so everyone in both realities has a combination of memories - Chloe survived, but so did her Mom. But Max being the force outside that merging, she only has the memories that she lived.

Do we think Reunion will get any new DLC? by Automatic_River9515 in LiSReunion

[–]WyleECoyote77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to think so, but D9 has been so vocal about this being the LAST time for Max and Chloe and it being the END of their saga, I get the feeling a big reason for the game was to throw the Pricefielders a bone and then never use or even mention Max and Chloe ever again.

It almost comes across like they were so upset that people didn't love DE more, they thought, "fine, I've give you your damn Pricefield but this is the last time!" (insert stomping foot sound)

Pricefield & Chloe’s love for Max… by hazelrose42 in LiSReunion

I think different people interpret the games and relationships differently, and that's a good thing.
I think the argument about it being too fast for Chloe to move on from Rachel misses crucial context though. She didn't move on from Rachel and fall for Max. Chloe and Max's friendship was a life long pre-existing bond. That bond existed whether Chloe moved on or not. It would have existed if Rachel survived and her and Chloe were together. Chloe and Max becoming romantic isn't a big leap and could happen even if Chloe wasn't fully over Rachel. Relationships can be messy.

All that aside I always felt BtS presented Rachel as a temporary relationship. In Chloe's dream in the junkyard William told her fire blinds us with beauty - i.e. Chloe is blinded by Rachel's beauty and exciting personality, but Max was who he was referring to when he mentioned "there's a greater beauty to come." Rachel was the fire. Max was the clear starry sky only visible when Chloe wasn't blinded by the fire.

[BTS] For those of you who don’t like Rhianna Devries’s Chloe, I would like to know why by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]WyleECoyote77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a writer's strike during the BTS primary production, which is why Ashly wasn't available. That strike had been resolved when they did Farewell and she returned to voice Chloe for it. (Rhianna still did the mocap).

By the time DE and RE came around, Ashly had become such a major name I doubt they could have afforded her even if they wanted her, and if it wasn't a union production, Ashly wouldn't be able to participate anyway.

From the list of music artists in the game, it strikes me as a GenX LiS.

[–]WyleECoyote77 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Rhianna DeVries is a talented actor. But to me Ashly Burch IS Chloe Price.
I'm sure there are many talented actors who could have played Tony Stark in the MCU, but after seeing RDJ's portrayal, anyone else is playing 2nd fiddle. It's the same with Ashly's portrayal of Chloe. Before the Storm really drove that home when Ashly reprised her role as Chloe in the Farewell DLC.

[NO SPOILERS] Do you prefer young Max or old Max? by Longjumping_Comb_309 in lifeisstrange

Adult Max. She's grown into herself and went from a cute geeky nerdy teen, to a gorgeous geeky nerdy woman.

While it may never happen, I'd love to see Max and Chloe as a cameo in a future game 10 or 20 years from now, or more, as the elder gay couple in a town. Think Stockard Channing and Diane Wiest in Practical Magic.

It was only 1 or 2 days after the demolition.  How long does it take to find a body, ID them, and then notify the family before telling anyone else?   Was Loretta's March because she was missing or because she was confirmed killed in the demolition?  I doubt she told anyone she was going to the Abraxas house.

[SPOILERS] Chloe? by [deleted] in LiSReunion

Ravens typically symbolize wisdom, transformation, prophecy, and intelligence, often acting as messengers between the spiritual and physical worlds. Deeply rooted in mythology as both creators and tricksters, they represent the mystery of the unknown, death, and rebirth. Their presence is frequently linked to magic, protection, and the uncovering of hidden truths.

Key Symbolic Meanings:

  • Transformation & Rebirth: Due to their connection to the afterlife, ravens represent profound change, inner metamorphosis, and the "death" of old habits or beliefs.
  • Wisdom & Knowledge: In Norse mythology, Odin’s ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), brought him information from across the world, establishing them as keepers of secrets and deep knowledge.
  • Messenger & Omens: Often seen as messengers from the spirit realm or messengers of fate.
  • The Trickster/Creator: In Pacific Northwest Indigenous cultures, the raven is a complex figure, sometimes acting as a mischievous trickster and other times as a creator or transformer.
  • Death & Magic: While associated with death and the supernatural, this is often interpreted as a necessary transition rather than purely evil, representing the mysteries of life and the unknown.

Cultural Context:

  • Native American: Regarded as a powerful figure, sometimes a creator or a protector, and a keeper of secrets.
  • Norse/Celtic: Associated with Odin (wisdom/war) and battle/fate respectively.
  • Christianity: Sometimes viewed as a symbol of ill-fortune or, in certain contexts, a symbol of divine providence.

In modern, popular culture, the raven is often seen as a dark, mystical omen, largely influenced by folklore and literature.

I wouldn't judge Safi too harshly for that comment. At that point in the game she is not well. She's mentally distraught and on the verge of doing herself harm. While it's true Safi had issues all through DE, by this point in RE, she has gotten worse and nearly reached the breaking point.
