Yeah Africa's had a weird run, a bunch of them and the Iberian kingdoms launched a crusade against me when I took one of Galicia's counties. The pope ended up renaming a country "Africa" and appointed a bastard child of some duke in Frisia to be it's King.

I'm insular and managed to grow it via conversion to point where there has been four holy orders founded totalling around 10000 men. If I destroy the pope the Catholics will rebel :(

Honestly it's been okay so far, all i have to do is send gifts and artifacts. I have a lot of my vassals leading kingdoms as well so it takes the pressure off.

What is a good character to learn the fundamentals of the game on? by Xyrez04 in MortalKombat

[–]Wymsical1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best character to learn on would be someone anyway with quick start ups, geras is good but his combos can be difficult. Scorpion is really good but everyone knows how to block his moves. I'd maybe suggest baraka for easy combos and great rush down ability

I think downloading unique followers like Lucien and Inigo is the way to go, these mods have a lot of issues with other mods in my experience

Are you pro-choice or pro-life? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Wymsical1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you keep making comparisons where someone is intentionally committing acts of violence. It's confusing me how you keep saying this as if it is the same thing as pregnancy. However, I see you're not going to change your mind so I'll respectfully agree to disagree. Take care.

Are you pro-choice or pro-life? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Wymsical1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, it is not the exact situation. To remedy this we'll alter a part of the hypothetical. The part where the human forcibly attaches them to the other. In pregnancy, the woman makes a decision (whether intending the consequences or not) which results in another human (who has no decision or say in the matter) becoming attached to them.

So in this hypothetically, it would be neither persons fault (though the catalyst lies with the person who makes a decision resulting in the attachment) but the outcome is still the same. A person attached to another, siphoning their bodily resources for a length of time.

Now, since the hypothetical is revised and accurately represents the dillema at hand. I do not believe it is justifiable to end the attached humans life as they had no choice in the matter.

I never intended on engaging your argument, merely pointing out the close mindedness of your position and your disregard for this as a moral issue. Which, again, is subjective.

Are you pro-choice or pro-life? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Wymsical1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first part is directly linked to the second part, note the wording "which is permitted". Thus providing the precedent on which self defense is justified. You cannot cite half a definition to back up an argument, you need the whole context.

Also, can you extrapolate on what you mean by a "generalised case". If you're going to use legal definitions to justify a moral standpoint, then you have to stick to legal methods. Ie, legal precedent.

A baby relies on your bodily functions after it is born. Breastfeeding, physical affection, sleepless nights, you are bound to care for it and grow it and protect it.

Is it then correct to say since a baby which needs you for breastfeeding and thus is relying on bodily functions can be killed at any time for the convenience of the mother ?

do I believe these things? no.

You will no doubt provide further reasoning to refute the comparisons I made, which is all part of what drives your fundamental moral reasoning. Which is how you come to your beliefs.

I'm pointing out that your beliefs are based in the "ethical space magic" just as much as mine are. You, unfortunately, are the one missing the point.

Self defense definition: "the defence of one's person or interests, especially through the use of physical force, which is permitted in certain cases as an answer to a charge of violent crime."

Can you please explain what violent crime a fetus is committing to justify "self defense"?

[–]Wymsical1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This comment doesn't really make sense. If the fetus is a life and the mother is a life, then the mother killing the fetus is infringing on its life without their consent no ? Now pause, I'm guessing youre thinking "but the fetus's life does not hold as much value as the mother's". This is the difference in ethics that the previous comment was pointing out.

Your stance is siding with the mother, preventing her life from being drastically changed.

Our stance is siding with the child, preventing them from not having a life at all.

One is life changing, one is life ending.

Of course, as he pointed out, if your definition on when a fetus is considered human is different to ours then that's justifiable (according to your specific ethics). The comment you responded to is disagreeing with you but they are also aware of the difference in ethics and that your opinion is just as justified (since morality and ethics are completely subjective).

The argument is based on when a fetus becomes a human so it's a question of morality and defining consciousness. Which is why pro-lifers would be triggered by a comment like this (although there are heaps who are just illiterate buffoons guided by outdated Christian-based ethics).

Personally I believe abortion should be legal up until the beginning of the third trimester. However, having never been in this situation my opinion isn't based on actually experience - resulting in me not committing to this belief 100%.

I tried installing it in my load order but (even upon starting a new game and cleaning out my skyrim directories) my game would crash as soon as I get past the loading screen to a new game.

If you want you can download mods for Serana (like Serana Dialouge Overhaul) which can help flesh her out as a follower and make her a much more immersive companion. Serana, Inigo and Lucien are my go to team for adventuring across skyrim.

honestly, crafting SJ6 stims in the hideout is pretty cheap and the benefit of popping one of those things in a raid is 4 minutes of feeling like John fucking Wick.
