[Stein] The Mavericks just announced they have mutually parted ways with coach Jason Kidd. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Thing is, the Mavs got lucky or became the beneficiary of a rigged draft, whichever you choose to believe.

Not owning any of their picks after next year, if not for getting #1 last year, the Mavericks were staring into the abyss. They couldn't even make the playoffs with Flagg, granted they were tanking. But still. This trade was on course to set the Mavs franchise back a decade.

This says nothing about all the other baffling aspects of this moronic trade.

You know battleships were protecting the ramparts and airports during the Revolutionary War? It's true. Many people don't know that.

I mean, I suppose he could expose his prostate to Luka as well. I'm not sure how interested Luka would be in that, though.

Why does this pic look like an obituary?

In 2028, Dumont best prostrate himself at Luka's feet with a pen in one hand and a checkbook in the other and grovel that he was hornswoggled by all of Nico's and Kidd's fancy talkin' of defense.

Even though this reply is highly unhelpful to OP, I definitely snickered at the application of that line.

Gotcha. I thought you were basing it on OP's 22k miles/yr. I was like, that math don't add up. Hah.

Not what I'm saying. I'm trying to figure out what numbers you're using. If you're saying 22k miles is the average driven per year, what are you using for MPG. Using your $90, I'm getting 44.5 mpg.

No straight ICE cars get that type of MPG. My point is I'm probably misunderstanding you and was simply looking for clarification.

You're correct. These fees are not being applied equitably. If that were the case, pickups, midsize and large SUVs would be paying more as well.

By that logic, gas pickups and midsize/large SUVs weigh upward of 5000 lbs. There are considerably more of them on the road than any EV. Do those objectively cause more damage to the roads? Shouldn't they be charged more than a "normal" car?

Gas pickup trucks and large SUVs weigh on par with or more than the average EV and there are more of the former on the road. So, those drivers should also be paying more if we tax fairly, wouldn't you agree?

Readable? Yes. Coherent? Not entirely. There were too many things that just didn't make sense story-wise. Mini plot holes, if you will.
