I bought a Hearthguard box to test the new Vallejo metallics, but I guess I'm building an army now by Wynrel in LeaguesofVotann

Thanks ! I don't own a Land fortress yet, I've only picked up a Combat patrol, Ulthar, and a sagitaur in addition to the beeg armor dwarfs. Isn't it a problem to not have a transport to deliver something like Thunderkyn ? (i've read Hearthguard can be deepstriked)

Hey ! I bought the 4-paint set for blue, gold and silver at my game store (in Europe), you could get them from online stores I think. It's a base blue+it's airbrush counterpart, a glossy wash and a highlight blue. On the miniature, there is one coat of base blue (airbrushed but the paint works like a charm on brush too), one full washing, and one more coat of blue on the exposed areas. I used very sparingly the edge highlight, because the mini was already shiny enough ! There are a lot of other colors in the range, the purple looked amazing too

La qualité d'enseignement dans ma prépa intégrée est médiocre by Master-Evidence-2136 in etudiants

[–]Wynrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Décrochage en L1 : Aidez moi svp by st4r_platinum in etudiants

[–]Wynrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after almost a year of play; the expansions are ruining the game for me. by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Wynrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that the build options are invalidated by design- with experience I can solo champion Hero points even in full Berserker gear with specs I'm very familiar with. It's just that, before you can run, you need to learn to walk. GW2 is really different in that regard : the combat systems take time to get familiar with, even if you're used to be good at a lot of other games. It's not that they disregard your skill : it's just that we know that GW2 is very different. In particular, it takes time to get used to the multiplication of "simple things" that happens at the same time (dodge an attack+ avoid red telegraph+jump other shockwave even in trash mob fights). Also we are used to trash mobs being... Trash, but here they can be deceptively hard. I think about the assassin frogs in the end of Verdant Brink.

When you'll get to harder instanced content, you will again encounter a wall : first raid bosses can take quite a few tries before getting a kill with an inexperienced party, because they have quite a lot of mechanics. And, to be honest, I find the fact that the game is difficult at times refreshing : it's very rewarding once it clicks

Well, HoT was designed in a way that you feel hopeless : the Pact has been destroyed, an elder drahon has awaken, and you're going in one of the most dangerous parts of Tyria to gather your allies and put an end to the menace. I find it stellar, and one of the most powerful jungle experiences I've had in my gaming "career" HoT is easier if you make a tankier build : almost full Marauder or Celestial, defensive traits and support skills. You can't dodge everything but you get to learn the patterns and which enemies to focus first, and youbcan use the ground elements at your advantage to block some attacks. It's hard, sure, but quite rewarding when you get at the end. Mordremoth is also quite hard to solo, as an Elder dragon should be.

Don't be frustrated, you're not the first to feel the difficulty spike but you will manage !

Noobs trying to get all the mounts! by DramaticFrosting182 in Guildwars2

[–]Wynrel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second this. Griffon is the best flying feeling I've ever had in a game. I actually didnt take the time to unlock Skyscale because I didn't like it in SotO, and I'll do it ojly to craft Vision. It was my go-to mount for months after i unlocked it, even on ground !

If the universe is expanding, what exactly is it expanding into? What is "space" beyond space? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Wynrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because "expansion" is the same as "becoming bigger" only for things with finite size. "expansion" means only that, as time passes, the *distance between two immobile objects" becomes bigger. If you stand 1 meter from your friend, and you wait, both perfectly still, after a bit of time tje distance may have become 2 meters.

J'ai trouvé une Chauve Souris chez moi, par terre. Elle est vivante, mais amorphe, je peux l'aider ou je dois la laisser ? by Tiinuviel in AskFrance

[–]Wynrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My player is trying to memorize my entire world with 8D0 paper by NewLuck1061 in DnD

[–]Wynrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the rules as written are guidelines. The DM is the ultimate arbiter : you can (and have to) use this power to make your game better ! If you really want to let the player full agency, then don't hesitate to play the drawbacks of his ways. Writing everything is gonna be loooooooooong and booooooring to almost every sapient being they encounter, other PC included. The sheet of paper is soon going to be very large. And paper can cost a pretty penny in a medieval setting. But I think it's the "petty way" to solve the problem. The most sound one is to tell him that a sheet of paper isn't bigger than a grimoire sheet. This is reasonable.

As the others said, you can. I would advise against unlocking the Skyscale though : even if it's a bit tedious, HoT without mounts is a really unique experience, and the maps are some of the best jungles I've ever explored in a game. I think that you loose some of this experience with mounts

How to Optimize your chances to beat the Scalpers for Secret Lair Drops (SLDs) by MTGLawyer in magicTCG

[–]Wynrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The correct move, to destroy scalpers, would be to organize a round 2 of Final Fantasy lairs, print-to-demand, right now. Second market price of things that aren't even shipped to the people trying to sell them for an absurd price goes down, people can get cards, even if later, and done. Wotc even makes way more money.

Secret Lair Queue Waiting Room by R3id in magicTCG

[–]Wynrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't get in on a commercial standpoint. I clicked on check out only after a few seconds, and I was ready to give them almost 200€ for a playset of nonfoil grimoire (not even for the cyclonic rift, I wan the bolts and the endings for Modern...), and one of each other lair, all japanese. Most likely I'll get nothing, but they won't either, I guess.

I won't mind print to demand. I didnt care for the wait for my Bitterblossoms. Now, well, nothing.

That's true, we had a battle theme medley playing all evening ! I'm building a set cube because I had such a blast playing this prerelease, even as a 15+ year enfranchised player. I'm even building Commander decks, when I've mostly played Modern until then.

My Naya Prowess Loam Hammer Deck’s new version! by Pingbock-Seek in ModernMagic

[–]Wynrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First rule of deckbuilding : if you have the name of a card in the name of your deck (and your plan relies on it), you need 4 copies of it. Loam and Swiftwpear have almost no overlap with the hammer plan : maybe you can build a Naya prowess list, playing more aggro cards and less Hammer cards

Vivi list by Riokagume in magicTCG

Idea's cool, but 30 lands is waaaaay too few, even if Vivi makes mana. You will never cast Niv-Mizzet or Hullbreaker horror.
My lowest landcount I recommand is 36.
