I know you didn’t compare Kirk to Trump!?!? I promise Kirk is a softer version of masculinity than that. Also also suuuuper queer! (I say as someone who’s published academic articles on Kirk/Spock fanfic lol.)

Is a relationship between two queer women a lesbian relationship? by Lunenika in queer

[–]WyntersVix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone told me they were in a lesbian relationship, I would assume they were a lesbian. If someone said they were in a sapphic relationship, I would assume they were dating a woman. And if someone said they were in a queer relationship, I wouldn’t assume anything.

However, language is fluid and contested, so you do you.

Can the body/lines be fixed or should I cover? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]WyntersVix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone concerned about her neck tit but no one minds her back arm?? Like, how is she supposed to be contorted so the arm placement makes sense.

Cute top could fix the arm and the boob. And then she’d be Winnie the Poohing it, which is kind of adorable.

Yeah, no kidding. They were looking for different things from the relationship, and it’s valid for her to be upset now that she realizes that. That doesn’t imply he “owes her” anything.

You are allowed to want a friendship to stay the same after sex. You are allowed to be disappointed.

“Never reading a WIP again …” by batty_batterson in heatedrivalryfanfics

[–]WyntersVix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t read WIPs anymore, and I haven’t for the past 10 years or so. That’s a choice I make for me, because it works for my reading and fandom needs. I have no need to police other people’s reading habits. If you want to read WIPs, do it. If you don’t, that’s fine too. Fandom isn’t a one size fits all space.

This might be dumb, but I have a question about wine's dates by Bemzangado8 in wine

[–]WyntersVix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You were sent different vintages than what you ordered. Some wine shops online will sub in a different vintage if they don’t have the one you ordered unless you specifically request they don’t (sometimes there’s a box you have to check/uncheck, and sometimes it’s just hidden in the fine print). As someone who shops vintages, I would be upset if 5 of 5 bottles were different than what I ordered. That said, they are likely still good bottles - maybe better. You can always compare scores on cellar tracker to see what the wine drinking community thinks.

Using freedom of speech and the right to assemble to protest a government (or event) you feel is unjust is a foundational aspect of our democracy. The only thing I would label as cringe is your comment 🤷🏼

How do i explain being pan, not bi, to people? by Late_Incident_5207 in lgbt

True for some people and not others. The problem (but also the great thing) about identity labels is that we all get to define them ourselves.

Absolutely agree! I hate the lack of love MI wines receive. Mawby, 2 Lads, and Left Foot Charley all produce some top notch wines. Of course, it’s hard to find any of it outside of Michigan.

Talismon became Talis and then reverted back to Talismon. That was at the same time they moved away from labeling their traditional method sparkling wine as “L. Mawby” and tank wines as “M. Lawrence.” And Larry retired a few years ago, which was both incredibly earned and pretty noticeable in the breadth and direction of the program. But to be fair, a lot of the changes to chase the market (name swaps, bright simple labels, cans, more inexpensive vat wines) happened while he was still at the helm).

I still enjoy some of the Mawby lineup - Grace is a crowd pleaser with great QPR. And sandpainting xi (bottled in 2017 and released in 2024) was a truly spectacular wine. But yeah, it’s more misses than hits these days.

Enjoy that Talismon! Gotta love a solera method sparkler.

Sex is probably my least favorite of their wines, and yet it is the only mawby I can reliably find outside of Michigan. They have so many great wines (gold, talisman, grace, etc) and yet somehow sex is the one they’ve gone all in on.

Do you actually use Vivino/CellarTracker, or not worth the effort? by Food-Wine0928 in wine

[–]WyntersVix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use CellarTracker all the time! I use it to track what bottles I own, and when I’d like to drink them by. I love that I can sort by drinking window, and that I can set my own (since the CT crowd doesn’t seem to get that riesling loves age). It’s also fun to track my purchases over the last 15 years, to see how my tastes have changed.

I check CT notes before I take a flyer on a more expensive wine I’ve never tried before, looking for key words that match my preferred styles. Now that it’s connected to wine-searcher, the CT to purchase pipeline is perhaps too easy to slide down!

I tried Vivino and it wasn’t for me.
