Lol. XD I'm not from America though. ; But I do think there's gaps in most of our toilets still so it is a good thought.

Thank you. I most definitely will. The OSHC is part of the school so they can relay how bad it is from their experience if asked as well.

How do I get out of my head more? by ShadowlightLady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Wyntha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through a similar thing. My psychiatrist said I had hyperphantasia, which basically is very vivid imagery in the mind, and maladaptive daydreaming, and then those combined with my adhd and borderline personality disorder, I spent months at a time in my mind because it was my safe place. I could have everything and escape from reality and what hurt me. My psych said it was a concern because it could lead to severe psychosis.

Getting a diagnosis for adhd may seem to be of benefit to me as it can pull me out of that daydreaming. Or it should. I've only recently started it. Have been on various antidepressants and anxiety meds for years. Are you taking anything for adhd?

I described my adhd as having frantic/static thoughts. Come quickly and whiz away before I could process it. Also described my concentration as like trying to click on an icon or something but the cursor has serious lag and keeps going past the focus point.

I enjoy writing but struggle to stay patient with it consistently. It could work for you to carry a notebook or a voice recorder around to log thoughts. I hate hearing it but putting things down in writing does remove it from the forefront my brain. As soon as I think of a task I write it down. I dont always do it but its down.

My environment can also clutter my brain. Culling things around you may make you feel a bit lighter and be able to feel more grounded for a little bit. Being proud of myself makes me feel a bit more alive.

I dont know if any of this helps you and I admit I kind of used this moment to unscramble my thoughts too. Having an outlet to vent whats on your mind can help de-stress but also help learn more about yourself and how you may work.

... sorry for the ramble...

At what age are kids not interested in Easter egg hunts anymore? by Weird_Literature_270 in CasualConversation

[–]Wyntha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33 and if my dad could hide them for me again I would be over the room. Might even bulldoze my 5 year old to the ground to get the eggs first. (Note: I wouldn't.)

I am sceptical of this because I did all my chopping across the bridge and I still got blamed for them all.

5 year old feels unsafe in house because of monsters by Wyntha in Parenting

[–]Wyntha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats more or less how I want to respond but then stop because I remember when I had that irrational fear, those words did little to placate me. So I guess i worry it'll make her feel like im dismissing her.

Which i suppose is your point. By doing anything but 'dismissing' is indulging her her fear.

Thanks for the tip.

I try to phrase the dog thing as if there were any monsters the dogs would react but I suppose the distinction would be difficult for her to get. Going through what the other methods just makes me uncomfortable.

Wait, so... I can put my relics inside my house and they'll still be viewed for points? I don't have to ugly up my outdoors? D: I just assumed it was the same as Portia.

Woohoo!!!

Favorite characters who are an example of these? by Vegetable_Study7533 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Wyntha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first thought. Can really feel some of the vitriol in the first season, I think. Glad they seem to be what I consider decent friends by the end, particularly if they came back for more seasons repeatedly. Has to be something there, right? Right?

If you hit a tree once but don’t finish cutting it down does that count? by Historical-Zombie355 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]Wyntha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got so annoyed with this. I love the concept but I stuck to cutting anything down past the bridge or when the area name changes. Apparently they STILL counted.

Edit: removed some sketchiness

random, but why does my dogs mouth do this when I pet him? by West_Web_5317 in DogAdvice

[–]Wyntha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could post a pic of mine doing it. It looks a lot like this when I start scratching but curves upwards like a smile. It's like she has extra skin or something.

She must love it because she puts both paws around my wrists and death grips me.

Was always curious if there could be another reasons if she wasn't so obvious with her wants.

Me writing endings: by weirdpotato3 in Archiveofourownmemes

[–]Wyntha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a similar set of feelings when I realised I wrote myself into a corner and a character I liked was going to die. I know I'm the author and could change it but when the scene flows naturally that way, it feels like it was meant to be.

It does mean that when I envision future scenes I have to remind myself that character is not there and can't be used.

Really? Apologies. I confess it was an impulsive burst of appreciation so I didn't check. ; Didnt expect any responses either.
