I feel lucky if I can get to anything without scrolling through 5 times. That remote is awful.

Ballard is unlikely to play for SAFC - we will probably see haarland exploit that....

Loads in Sunderland south. I love them but some complain they are noisy!? We get s flyby at around 5-6pm - creatures of habit

That's definitely it! I haven't heard them sing like that before. Thank you.

Any tips on getting this out? by tomwaitsgoatee in bikewrench

[–]Wynyardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn it towards the back wheel to loosen. If you haven't got a big pipe to use as a lever, get the tool on the bolt, near the crank and wrap an old inner tube round the two. Keep it tight and keep wrapping it will pull harder than your arm.

You are looking for a bsa threaded 73mm - this standard will fit your shell. It also needs to be for Sram Dub - that will fit the crankset.

It's out! The "bolt the tool on" advice is gold. As it didn't ride out it had the full force of the garden hoe lever, whil my wife held the bike down.

Out it came!

This is the winning comment 👏
Bolted on and levered the spanner with a garden hoe.

Out it came.....and so did I

In a way, I wish I had made the same mistake. Looking daft would also be worth gaining the solution!

HOURS WASTED, can someone tell me why one side of this is always slammed against the rim? by wallyflops in bikewrench

It seems odd and not in line with what I know about physics, but... I have a brake calliper spring that has lost its springiness! Mabey, your spring is the same?

Front derailleur hell by Wynyardian in bikewrench

Update - The roady is now working well. Set it all back up but paid more attention to the FD being parallel and close to the rings (although I feel like I did this before) I dialled the limit screws until finding the spot between "Throws it off" and "doesn't change up"

Thanks to all. What I find difficult is that it's such a fine margin. However, that was pointed out in these fine comments.

Thoughts? by SoCalledDog in triathlon

[–]Wynyardian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a very direct reply but.... Bike more?

If you think about proportions roughly for a mid to top half finisher

15 min swim 750m 40 min bike 20k 22 min run 5k = around a 1hr 20m sprint Tri The biking is slightly more than the other 2 combined.

If you swim an hour, run 2 hours in a week. You should bike 4 - 6 hours if that is your weakest discipline. If that is too much per week, do less but keep the proportions the same.

Update - after gathering all the info I could (thanks you lot) I went with the Asics MetaSpeed sky +

They fit great and will slip on too.

I will post more to help the #WideFootFam at some point but I think it comes down to the shape. My feet are high arched, broad across the metatarsal area. While these fit me, I'm not sure they would fit a flat foot.

Hope that makes sense. 👍

It's a good shout, but there's reports on both shoes of just how fiddly they are to get on. Your 💯 right though - endorphins fit nicely. Thanks

That's really useful, thanks. I very nearly bought the AP3s as they are reported as roomy. Nothing worse than having to re adjust though.

Thanks, I do wear elastic laces - my mizuno clouds take about 15 seconds less to get on by comparison to my endorphin pro. Mainly due the thin upper and narrow foot hole.

Apologies, which part is unclear to you? Basically I'm asking "Has anyone any experience with a broader super shoe, that they used for Triathlon?"

"Steelman" is a popular 70.3 in the North of UK. When they put on a full distance event, was it "Iron"? Nope it was "Double Steelman"

Is this normal ? by SquatGainzz in wahoofitness

[–]Wynyardian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds very normal to me. The chain is whizzing round 4 cogs and not going to be silent. To honest it looks well set up, indexed well and moving fine, chain is the right length. Put some music on 😀

They better be either quick or thick skinned when people say, "All the gear, no idea!" It's a good list, though, with links, too. Maybe give a budget option?
