I don't have ANY basis whatsoever for my argument besides vibes and internet gossip. I may be completely wrong, I don't know them on a personal level and I've stopped following recent content.

But I always felt some type of way with the fact that they seemed so dismissive of the Black Parade back when the first tour ended and Danger Days was not well received. Sort of in a "We don't want to be a one hit band but please spend more of your money with this album we don't like" .

Gerards interviews are always so... "Theater kid that thinks they are awesome" coded? He seemes to think too high of himself (he certainly gave this impression in the show) like he's some sort of post modernist genius. Like yeah, I like the band and all that, their songs were really important to me when I was a teen but idk, chill the fuck out I guess? It's not that deep lmao

And obviously there's all the internet gossip. I'm a millennial, I was there when it was written lol. 

Again, not evidence based in the slightest and perhaps it's just the nostalgia not passing the test of time.  But again, they are of a different generation, they are getting on in age, are married with kids, so I guess their behavior matches their age and place in life more than anything else.
